Hi I'm Holly

I am a wife, a mother and a grandmother, a sister and a friend. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a Mom. I have five children and eleven grandchildren. They are all darling! I have been blessed with a marvelous husband. My career after raising my children was as an insurance agent. I enjoy a good book. And I love learning about my ancestors. I have written several books and histories about them. I love vegetable and herb gardening, crocheting, needle work, quilting, photo journaling, and playing with my grandchildren.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born a Mormon. My parents were Mormons. My grandparents and their parents were Mormons. But that is not why I am a Mormon today. I am a Mormon because I love Jesus Christ. I love my Heavenly Father. I am so grateful to our Savior for his love for us in atoning for our sins in the Garden of Gethsemane and on the cross, and for making it possible that we can repent and be forgiven and live with them again. I also know that Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ appeared to Joseph Smith in 1820 and restored the same gospel and church organization that Jesus had while He lived on the earth. I am grateful for The Book of Mormon which testifies of Christ and how He loved and blessed the people on the American continent and visited them after His resurrection, written by the prophets who lived on the American continent at the same time the Biblical prophets lived in Israel, and which was translated by the prophet Joseph Smith. I know this is a true book of scripture, just as is the Bible. I know that we have living prophets of God on this earth today. I have read and studied and prayed to know the truths of these things, and I know they are true. They make me happy and give me peace. That is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I love to learn and teach about Jesus Christ and his gospel. I love to read and study the scriptures. I have taught Sunday School and religion classes to children, teenagers and adults. I enjoy being involved with the women in my church, doing service projects and learning more about Jesus Christ together. I especially enjoy the projects we have done to help people in need in our community, quilting blankets and gathering necessities for homeless and battered-women's shelters; also gathering materials for sanitation kits for people experiencing natural disasters throughout the world, or for new-born kits for babies whose mother's have nothing for them after birth, or school kits for children in third-world countries. I have found that serving others in any way I can makes me happy.
