Hi I'm Alicia

I love serving others. Family & friends are my life. Chocolate is my weakness. My dream is to be a mom and I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I grew up in Maine and loved most of the time that I have spent there. I am ready to start the new exciting part of my life...college. I am excited to be busy again, sitting around at home not having enough to do was driving me crazy! I need the go, go, go craziness of life/school again....I have a hard time sitting still unless I have a good book in hand. I am always looking for a way to serve others..it seems to be second nature. The most common place to find me is where the children are. They really are the best...they are innocent and sweet (most of the time). At church you rarely find me without a child in my arms. In the future I look forward to embarking on the most joyous, stressing, frustrating, and loving journey that I will ever embark on, motherhood. But for the time being I will satisfy the curious, inquisitive and problem-solving side of me, by diving into the world of Mechanical Engineering.

Why I am a Mormon

This is the place that I have found as a refuge from the world that seems to be spinning out of control. The values seem to be slipping from the world and here I have a foundation with values that don't change with the whims of the world. "I feel my Savior’s love In all the world around me... And when I kneel to pray, My heart is filled with peace." When you can feel the Savior's love all around you and feel the Holy Ghost bringing peace to your heart...why would you not choose to be a member? Another HUGELY important part is the fact that Jesus Christ atoned for our sins. He has made it possible for everyone to be resurrected and to live with our Father in Heaven again. He made it possible for us to be sealed to one another as husband and wife for all eternity and to be able to live together as a family in the life after death. Where else can you find such peace and wonderful knowledge? I know that Jesus lives and that we have a Heavenly Father that knows each and everyone of us and cares about us and what we are going through. I know that this is the true church and that it was restored by a prophet named Joseph Smith. I know that as we earnestly pray and seek that the Lord will help us to understand and gain the answers. BUT it will be in his time and in his way, we have to trust that he will answer us. I know this because of this past fall. I could not understand why I was the only one that I knew that was still stuck at home waiting to go to college. Over the last few months things have become more clear through the power of prayer. I am more and more certain that I had a work to do while I was here and I hope that I have fulfilled that reason. I am grateful for the opportunity to still have been home and for all of the experiences that I have had. I would not trade it for anything. The Lord really does know us and what we need and he really does have our best interests in mind. Of this I know and testify.

How I live my faith

There are a few ways that we show that we live by the teachings of the gospel. Things like serving others, reading the scriptures, praying, and sharing it. I love my Savior, Jesus Christ, and I try and follow the example that he has given us. Granted that is not always easy but the Savior has made it possible to repent and to do better. By following Jesus Christ and trying to be like him we show Heavenly Father that we love him and that we care about the sacrifices that he has made for us. We also show that we want to follow the plan that he has set for us so that we can live with him again after this life. The simple things like going to church, reading the scriptures and praying daily help keep me close to my Father in Heaven. It helps me to see things more clearly and it gives direction to my life which helps me to be the example of Christ's love and example to those that are around me. One day I will go out on a mission and I will be able to proclaim to the world what I know and how I know it.
