Hi I'm GayLynn

I am a single mother of 5 beautiful daughters, and grandmother of 3 wonderful grandsons.

About Me

My youngest daughter is 17 and a senior in high school and has enlisted as a Marine. She is excited about her new adventure. I am finishing up my undergraduate studies of Business Management. I hope to finished in the next few months. I have been taking classes on line for the last few years. I enjoy sewing, working with tools (all sorts), reading suspense novels and watching romantic movies. I have found it exhilarating studying again and love to learn new things. Creating new things make me feel very satisfied.

Why I am a Mormon

I am the second child of 10 to parents who are member of the faith. I was taught as a child that I am a child of God and that He loves me. I knew early on in life of my Savior Jesus Christ and about the atonement. In my youth I was often called miss goody goody for my strong testimony. I have been given a gift of a strong testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ and its teachings from a very young age. With this being said, there was a time as a young adult I watched the kids I grew up with living a care free and "happy" life out side of the teaching I knew to be true. They were getting married and starting their families, something I wanted so much for me. While I knew the church was true at that time in my life I found that it was not easy to live all the gospel standards. I started to stray, but even then I found myself afraid to forget to pray. I knew that I could never loose my connection to my loving Heavenly Father and His son Jesus Christ. Through this time I came to learn about repentance and the beautiful gift of the atonement. I was latter able to serve a mission and afterwards find a young man that believed as I did and we were married in the Seattle Temple where we were sealed for time and eternity as a couple. Life brought with it many challenges and each has strengthened my testimony. When I found myself a single mother of five little girls, it was my faith that pulled me through the hard years. My loving Savior has always been there to help me even when I was not able to recognize it at the time. Eternal families are a great blessing and I am so grateful for the knowledge that we can be with our families forever. I have found that being "happy" for the moment does not compare to real joy. Joy comes from living gospel principles and standards and being true to the faith.

How I live my faith

Currently I teach the 4th Sunday lesson of the month for the woman's organization of the church. I find it a privilege to study the conference talks given by the general authorities of the church and present them to the sisters of the congregation. It is a very humbling experience. For many years I have taught the children classes in the church and have found that both opportunities have given me insight to gospel principles that have strengthened my life. When I was 21 I served a mission for the church that has been a pinnacle point in my life.
