Hi I'm Ashli

I am a wife, a mother, a sister, a daughter, a steel magnolia, and I am a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Ashli and I am 23 years old. I am married to my sweetheart Dorian and we are expecting our first child, Lila, in April 2015. I am a part time student finishing up my "second senior year" online along with being a wife, expectant mother, an aspiring author, and maintaining my blog "It might be a Quarter Life Crisis", my days are satisfying, fulfilling, and blessed. I am your typical Southern Belle I love to cook, love to shop, read, garden, spend time with my family, do service for others and for my church family when I can, and I am really enjoying all of the experiences becoming a new mommy brings. My goals and aspirations are pretty simple I truly hope to touch the lives of the people around me, help people with the things I have experienced by sharing that in my writing and in my every day life, live the gospel to the best of my ability, and be a great wife and mother that can make her family and her God proud. My name is Ashli and I am a Mormon.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the answer to all of my questions! The book of Mormon is the missing piece of the puzzle that will answer the question: why? Why am I here? What does Christ think of me? I went to college and received the majority of me education in Biblical and Theological Studies and after all of that deep study there were still so many questions that my professors could only answer with : “Well, I am not sure it’s up to your own interpretation”. And that left me so lost, and I began to doubt God many many times, but when I read the Book of Mormon it answered every question. God did not leave me to wonder or wander either, but He was here! He gave me answers, and much more He talks to me and He guides me and He loves me. I will never forget the day I met the missionaries it was September 19th, a Wednesday and I was in my house, searching for answers. Telling God that I had this education, I was a member of a church a good stable conservative Church called the Church of Christ, I lived in the buckle of the Bible Belt. Why weren't my questions being answered. I was so surprised by the knock on the door, but when they came with answers I was so relieved and so at peace. I didn’t find the truth the truth found me and answered my questions no longer to wonder, and that is why I am a Mormon! I know with 100% certainty that the Church of Christ of Latter Day Saints is true and that is a beautiful thing.

How I live my faith

How I live my faith? That's a pretty deep question. I would say the way I really live my faith is by doing what's right even when it hurts. Doing what Heavenly Father wants us to do is not always easy, but it is always possible and it is always the right thing to do. I live my faith by fully trusting in Heavenly Father with my entire life and I give it all over to Him. I study his word every day and seek diligently His truth and His guidance through His inspired works. I try to act like Christ in everything I do. When I think about how I am living my faith I always think of three songs: Abide with me, I am a child of God, and His Imagine in Your Countenance. Heavenly Father, will always be with me and abide with me and I will always be His child and I need to behave that way like Christ did. If Christ can be seen in my countenance than I know I am living my faith! :)

Can you tell me about Mormon customs: how you dress for church, what holidays you celebrate, etc.?

Like every church we try to dress our best for Christ. When we come together it is a time to remember His sacrifice and to partake of the sacrament it is a time for reverence and we try to show that in our dress. As for Holidays, we celebrate them like anyone else. If you're in America you will obviously celebrate independence day, etc., Show more Show less

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

We do not worship Joseph Smith at all, but rather respect him for what he has done, and what he has died for much like any great man of the Lord. Men such as Moses, Paul, etc., we worship God the Father and His son Jesus Christ. Show more Show less
