Hi I'm Meredith

I'm from Utah, USA. I have an awesome husband and three beautiful daughters. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was raised in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. From the time I was 8, I knew I wanted to serve a mission for the LDS church. I went to a couple of years of college before my mission, then served in West Virginia and Virginia, USA. I came home and began an apprenticeship to become an electrician. In my third year of schooling and apprenticeship, I met my husband. We dated for six months and got married. I received a license to be an electrician, worked for a year, then had our first child. Two more children came in the next few years. Currently I enjoy chasing our young children and trying to help them learn about their Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. I enjoy being involved in my daughter's school, and I also teach electrical school a few hours each week. Sometimes I feel it's hard to quantify what I do with my time...but when I think in terms of the million-and-one things I do to help grow and shape my children into good, honest, faithful people, the "measuring" is easier. I enjoy jogging near our home and am always up for to run a 5K (3 miles) race.

Why I am a Mormon

Maybe you would think that I'm a Mormon because I was raised in the Mormon Church. Being raised in the Church has been the greatest blessing of my life. I don't know why I was blessed this way. I do know that I have come to my own personal conviction that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the true church of the Savior Jesus Christ upon the earth today. I know that God, our Heavenly Father lives, and that his Beloved Son, Jesus Christ, lives and loves us. My heart has been soft in this regard for as long as I can remember. I have had my own witness that the Book of Mormon is another witness of the divinity and mission of the Lord, Jesus Christ. I know that Joseph Smith, Jr. was a prophet of God and restored Christ's church to the earth in this latter day. I know that there is a living prophet today, who tells us what Heavenly Father would have us know and do to be happy in this life and prepare to live again with Him after this life is over. I've seen children come into this life; I've seen family members and friends suffer with illness and debilitating disease; I've experienced the loss of loved ones. I know what I know--that God lives and that Jesus Christ suffered for our sins and overcame death so that we might live again--because I have put the prophet's words to the test all my life. I know that by following the commandments and receiving sacred ordinances and making and honoring covenants, mortal life can be joyful, and we can anticipate eternal joy with our Father and our families when we die.

How I live my faith

In my ward, I am blessed to serve among the women. My calling is to organize the Sunday lessons and help the teacher when needed. I also assist the president of the women's organization when she plans other meetings for the women or when she arranges for a funeral luncheon, or things like that. Another responsibility I have is to watch over the sisters in our neighborhood. I am assigned to watch over four ladies in particular, and to pray for them and keep in contact with them, helping them when they need and trying to be a friend as best as I can. I live in a neighborhood with many older families...my husband and I are among the youngest in our ward and so we are the beneficiaries of the wisdom and experience and strong testimonies of our neighbors.
