Hi I'm Mereesa

I love to learn and to laugh. I am working to become a social worker. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Fruit Heights, Utah. I'm the oldest child in my family, and I love my two little sisters more than anything in the world. I'm currently a junior in college, studying psychology. I love skiing, golfing, playing tennis, whistling, and playing cards with my friends.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in a family that is very strong in the Church. But I didn't truly become a member until I decided for myself that I wanted to know the truth. Through many earnest prayers, scripture study, and the help of church leaders and parents, I have learned that the Book of Mormon is the word of God, translated by the Prophet Joseph Smith. Nothing can bring me as much peace and joy as knowing that my Heavenly Father loves me. I am a Mormon because this Church brings an indescribable happiness to my life.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by taking care of the other women in our ward. My job is to organize visiting teaching, which means putting all the sisters into pairs who then go together to visit two other sisters in the ward. The visiting teachers act as a teacher, an example, and most importantly as a friend to their assigned women. I love that our church is organized in this pattern, because it ensures that every member has someone who will love and serve them, and can report any needs their sisters have to someone who can help. Jesus Christ truly cares about every individual, and helping with visiting teaching is my way of becoming more like Him.
