Hi I'm Ryan

I love writing and recording music, going on adventures in the forest, riding my bike long distances, and...I'm a Mormon

About Me

Where to start...Well, I'm Ryan. I am 21 years old, and i am about to leave for two years to serve as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Colorado. I guess the most significant detail of my life currently is that I am a recovering drug addict. When i tell people that, usually the first response is, "I though Mormons can't drink, smoke, or use drugs." The truth is that mormons can do these things, but we choose to not do them because of the severe consequences that can come along with them. I made the mistake in my youth of experimenting with the party scene, but soon after realized that no matter how hard i tried, i could not stop using drugs and alcohol. This addiction brought me emotional torment, physical pain, legal and financial problems, and brought me within inches of death several times. This however is not significant necessarily. What is significant though, is how i escaped this torment. The only means of relief that ever worked, was to surrender my will and my life to my Heavenly Father, and the atoning sacrifice of his son, Jesus Christ. I found that when i sought the help of God, he was more than eager to pick me up and lead to freedom from addiction, but only when i humbled myself and reached out my own hand. Since escaping this torment, i have gained the faith and sure knowledge that the sacrifice made by Jesus Christ can and will heal each and every one of our souls of the pains of this earthly existence and the trials therein.

Why I am a Mormon

I know That Jesus Christ lives, that He loves us, and that He gave up his life so we can be healed and find solice in strife. He has felt all of my pains. He knows all of my sorrows, and i cannot let that be in vain. I know that our God is our eternal father in Heaven, that He wants nothing more for each of us than to return to him and live with Him for eternity. That is why He sent his only begotten son, Jesus Christ. To make this feat possible.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by daily offering up of my will to my Heavenly Father, so that i may have strength and knowledge of how i can help those around me and share the blessings that i have recieved by living the gospel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I strive daily to nourish my faith in Jesus Christ and the healing power of his sacrifice while He was here on Earth. I strive to better myself every day by studying the Bible and the Book of Mormon, and avoiding inappropriate activities that would take away my constant companionship of the Holy Spirit. I am currenly living my faith by dedicating two years of my life to serving my lord and savior Jesus Christ by being a missionary in colorado! I have only been at it for a few weeks now, but they have been the most edifying, gratifying, and faithbuilding weeks of my life. I have found already how my past experiences can benifit most people that i come in contact with, and that is a wonderful feeling indeed. The gospel of jesus christ is the greatest blessing anyone on this earth can ever recieve.
