Hi I'm Todd Anderson

I'm from Sacramento, CA. I play water polo, sing in musicals and I love band. I'm of Russian heritage. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the fifth child of seven. Both parents were born into the church. My father's side of the family is Russian and my mother's is Scottish. I am currently a missionary in Moscow Russia. Before this I graduated from High School, went to one year of college and worked to get money for my mission by selling pest control and being a lifegaurd. I can play nine different instruments, all brass. None fantastically by any means, but I play them in concert. I love to sing! I did musicals in school, was in choirs and did acapella with my dad and 3 brothers! I love sports. Water polo and swim team mainly. Then side sports are rugby, football and basketball.

Why I am a Mormon

We all do things for a reason. We have the amazing gift given to us from God called "agency" which is the gift to choose. I choose to be a Mormon because of the great feeling I get. I love explaining to people that it isn't that I "can't" do this or that, it's simply that I "choose" not to. I love the feeling that I can recieve after knowing that I follow the guidlines set for me. Yes I was born into this church, but like I said, we all can choose wheather to continue to go or not. And I choose to continue because I know it's true. The feeling I get when going to church, teaching people, praying, reading scripture, attending the temple and what not, is nearly impossible to decribe. It is simply a feeling that one must WANT to have. One needs the desire to feel the love of God, the warmth of His spirit always being with us. The comfort it gives, the solace, is just incredible and this is why I'm a Mormon. It is not my parents choice that I continue to go to church. It is not my church leader's choice. It is mine. When I sin, because everyone does, I feel the guilt of not being able to fulfill that what the Lord has commanded me to do. Through Jesus Christ and his sacrifice for us, I am able to repent. The happiness I feel after repenting is so overwhelming knowing that the mercy of God is upon all of us. I love this church so much with all of my heart, otherwise why in the world would I give up two years of my life to learn Russian of all languages and try to teach the people in Russia this gospel! I know that it is true. I know that God lives and is our Father in heaven. I know that Jesus Christ is his son, and our bother and that He suffered for us so that we can have happiness and know true joy. I know that if you want to know anything wheather this church is true or not, stop reading this, get down on your knees, adress our Heavenly Father and ask. That is all you have to do. I did. I found out this is true. And I'm a Mormon.

How I live my faith

Before I was called to be a full time missionary, I was a ward missionary. This being, the full time Elders in my ward would call me if they needed another person to attend a lesson or something of the sort. I loved it! I was going out with them at least 3 times a week. It was an amazing privilage to practice my teaching as a missionary before I was called to serve in my own area. At the same time, I was also a primary teacher for the 8-9 year olds. It was one of the best callings I've had! So many fun children to teach and it is just an amazing feeling to see their faces glow when they understand the gospel we taught.
