Hi I'm Catherine

I love the outdoors. I study at Stanford University. And I'm a Mormon!

About Me

Hi! I'm Catherine and I love so many things. First, my family. Growing up the oldest of six kids is a blast. There is never a dull moment, that's for sure. I also love outdoor adventures-Heavenly Father's creations are truly magnificent. Getting on top of mountains is one of the most exhilarating experiences. You feel like you are on top of the world! It was such an amazing feeling to summit Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest peak in Africa, a place I have a deep love for. I was able to spend a summer in Kenya building schools for the children and helping the people there. I found that even though a lot of the people there don't have much in the material sense, they are so happy. They have what is most important, their families and their faith.

Why I am a Mormon

I love being Mormon. Living the gospel of Jesus Christ is what brings true happiness. There are so many people in this world searching for the golden ticket to happiness and this gospel is it. It is so simple and it works! Sure, it doesn't take away the hard things that happen to everyone in life but it helps us through, gives us hope, and helps us arrive at a better place. I have seen this in my life and in the lives of so many others especially while I was on my mission. This gospel changes lives for the better if they will just try it out. That is what I have done, and I know it is true. I know this is the path that leads to true and lasting happiness. That is why I love it and I am so grateful to be a part of it.

How I live my faith

I just returned from being a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Montreal, Quebec. Even though it was super cold and snowy in the winter, it was a wonderful experience that warmed my soul. The thing I loved the most was being able to serve others 24/7. For sure, going to church, reading the scriptures, and praying to my Heavenly Father are all really important to me but they all lead me to something greater- they invite me to do good and that is what the gospel of Jesus Christ is all about. I love helping others along their path and making them feel loved. One of my favorite ways to do this is through baked goods. I love baking breads, cookies, brownies, really anything, and then delivering them to those in need.
