Hi I'm Cristina

My family are like nomands I grew up in many states, I write my own songs on my harp and I LOVE being Mormon.

About Me

I am not to good at filling out the space pages provide for the "About Me" I dont know what to say. Ok well some hobbies of mine would be snowboarding, carpentry, astronomy (I am proud to say as nerdy as it is that I can point out every visible planet) I love to compose my own songs on the harp I have been playing now for 7 years. I love cooking I want to own my own bistro some day. I want to major is business management and in music but for now I am saving for college and other important things.

Why I am a Mormon

Where do I begin? Well In August of 2010, my dad was in Iraq at this time I was still very much against the church. I wanted nothing to do with it, I think I had been meeting with missionaries on and off for about 4 years. Well one night my dad calls us, he was telling us repeatedly how much he loved us, and that he will always be with us no matter what, he said he wanted us to be good. He said these could be his last words. When he said that I broke down, I began to cry, I ask God why? Why would he take my father away? I was really angry at him for letting this happen. I was thinking the worst for hours until my dad called again. He said that he was fine and they were able to get things under control. He said to us though "I think the Book of Mormon might have saved me because of something that happened with it." that is something I will never forget. I was shocked, how could a Book have saved him? Only the Bible can do that! Well I kept thinking about it until I finally decided to pray with a sincere heart to know if this book was true. As I began to pray, I got a very warm loving fuzzy feeling and I was like what is this? Gross am I getting sick? I better not be or I’m gunna be mad! Well at first, I did not realize what it was but as I kept praying that feeling only grew stronger until I realized that it was the Holy Spirit testifying to me that the Book of Mormon is true, that this Church is true, and that my dad was being taken care of. From that moment on I only kept growing in the Church wanting to know as much as possible leading to me getting baptized. I know this church is true and I know there is no other place I could be at that could give me the same feeling.

How I live my faith

I live my faith in many ways, in my ward I am on a committee that helps organize a weekly thing called Family home evening. In my ward it is every Monday at the church building and we get together to have a lesson on church topics that we choose and then after words we do and activity like movie night or flag football. It helps our ward feel even more united and allows us to get to know one another even better. Praying is just an awesome way to live my faith daily it is just awesome to devote time to pray to our Heavenly Father! Reading Scriptures to me is just a relaxing way to calm down, get away from the buzz of daily life. Being able to sit down and enjoy something that helps me grow spiritually is quite something.
