Hi I'm Kerry

I grew up in Utah and have lived in Pennsylvania for over 20 years. I work at PNC Bank in Pittsburgh and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Utah and moved to Pennsylvania after I graduated from business school with an MBA. I have worked in the banking industry for over 20 years and currently am an audit manager for a specialized product called securitization. I am married and have 3 children. The oldest is in college and the others are in high school. I love to travel. We have gone all over the United States and also to Europe. I enjoyed showing my family Germany where I served as a missionary as a young man.

Why I am a Mormon

Both of my parents are Mormon and I grew up in the church. I have a long heritage in the Church with ancestors that knew Joseph Smith and Brigham Young and were with the pioneers who crossed the plains to the Salt Lake Valley. However, even though I have this long heritage, that is not why I am a Mormon. I had to find out for myself that the Gospel is true. I have read the Book of Mormon and have taken the challenge to pray about it and ask Heavenly Father if it is true. I have received that confirmation and I know that the Book of Mormon is scripture just like the Bible. From it, I have received many answers to problems that have confronted me in my life. I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God and that he restored the fulness of the gospel in our day. I also know that we have a prophet today who is a spokesman for Jesus Christ on the earth. It gives me great comfort to know that our Heavenly Father loves us today and gives us counsel through his prophet that helps us with the problems that we have now. I am a Mormon because living the teachings of Jesus Christ and his gospel has blessed me and has given me greater perspective about my life.

How I live my faith

I try to follow the Savior, Jesus Christ. He showed us the perfect example of service and love in how he interacted with others. I currently serve as the bishop (pastor) of our local congregation. It is an unpaid position which can require a lot of time. I have found that my relationship with my Savior and my Heavenly Father has grown much stronger as I have served the members of our congregation and others. I work with people every week and try to help them with their problems and to help them grow stronger in the gospel. As I discuss problems with individuals, I often ask myself how the Savior would help this person and I try to do what I think he would do.
