Hi I'm Hi I’m Danielle

I live the Great White North, I am French Canadian, I have 4 wonderful adult children and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am second last of a family of 6 girls and 2 boys. I love to help others, to exercise and to create useful things with my hands. In 1980 I graduated from the Medical Laboratory Technologist program at Algonquin College here in Ottawa and I got married to my high school sweetheart in the fall of that same year. After being a stay at home mom for many years I now help my husband run a business from home.

Why I am a Mormon

A couple of missionaries from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints knocked on our door shortly after our second son turned two. They started teaching us about their faith and to our surprise there was very little we disagreed about. We felt so much love from these young men who barely knew us! After a few months they asked us to pray to know if we should be baptized. We both received confirmation that that is what the Lord wanted us to do and although it has not always been easy we both have never regretted it. It was my dream to have four children and to stay home to raise them so I am especially thankful for the support I received in accomplishing my heart’s desire.

How I live my faith

The restored gospel gives us many opportunities to put in practice the teachings of our Lord Jesus Christ. Presently I am the secretary for the Sunday school presidency. We serve children between 18 months and 12 years of age. I love being with children! I also host a monthly workshop where I teach people in our church and our community on why and how to make mats out of plastic bags. These mats are then shipped to people around the world who normally have to sleep on bare ground or on cement floors. I love being a Mormon because it is a place where it is still good to be good :).
