Hi I'm John W. Stevens

I was born in Nebraska. We moved to Utah in 1938.We lived among the Mormons for 13 years before I joined the church.

About Me

I am a retired Aerospace Engineer, great-grandfater to 32 wonderful great-grandchildren. I was converted to the church wnen I was 16. I married my high school sweetheart 60 years ago June 24th. I was able to baptize my parents after I joined the church. I was a professional square dance caller for 20 years I carried a Utah State Contractor's license for 40-plus years and built a number of hmes for my wife and I and for ou children. Since retirement I have been a subsstitute teacher for math classes in two school districts. I also sub in LDS Seminaries.

Why I am a Mormon

When my future wife and I were dating, she found out that I was not a Mormon and she said that the only way she would get married was in the temple and I could not take her there. She then went into the house.and said that we were not going to date again. I decided if the church was so important to her, I needed to find out about it. I called my best freind and asked him to take me to church the next Sunday, and four months later I was baptized. Three months after I was baptized I had the opportunity to baptized my parents. I have a firm testimony of Joseph Smith and Jesus Christ and the Book of Mormon. I have never doubted that the church is true.

How I live my faith

I have served as bishop, second counselor in bishopric and on stake high council. I have taught Sunday School classes to both youth and adults. I have served as Scoutmaster and Cub Scoutmaster, My wife and I served a mission in Tonga and also a mission working with the young adults from two high schools.
