Hi I'm Kody

I'm 21 years old, currently serving a Mission in Colorado, I love Music with a passion, I'm a Martial Artist, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in Houston, Texas. Then moved to the city of Elk Grove in California when i was 4, and I've lived there ever since. I am also the oldest of Five children in my Family. At the moment, I am serving as a full time Missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in the Colorado Colorado Springs Mission. Music is one of my biggest passions. It moves my soul unlike anything out there. I love to listen to all sorts of music: Metal, Rock, Grunge, Punk, Acoustic, Post Hardcore/Screamo, Dubstep, Techno, ect..., basically whatever gives me an emotional surge. I really love to make it as well, whether it be writing lyrics, or figuring out tunes, and I hope to be a famous Musician someday. One of my longer running passions is Martial Arts. After 5 years of traning, I received a Black belt in Kenpo in the year 2008, then I continued and learned many other styles. I am proficient in at least 6 styles: Kenpo, Escrima, Kabudo, Jui Jitsu, Mui Thai, and Tae Kwon Do. I love Martial Arts, and whenever I can learn something new, I take it. I'm a huge Nerd! I love Fantasy stuff, like D&D and Weapons. Card games like MTG and Yu-Gi-Oh. I looove Video Games, especially Pokemon and Fighting games like SSBB, Mortal Kombat, Street Fighter, ect. I also love Anime. I'm also pretty cool, just so you all know.

Why I am a Mormon

I've been a member all my life, but I honestly struggled a lot. The people I have chosen to hang out with and affiliate myself with have many different views. So it was hard at times to show where I stood, or sometimes really believe what I said I did. I've kept my faith for two very big reasons, and those are Understanding and Peace. Whenever I was extremely conflicted with what was true, or had the worst day ever, I would pray, and when I would pray, I would feel a peace in my heart, or sometimes a warmth in my chest unlike anything in this world. It would always reassure me of my belief, and it would be the voice that said "You'll be ok, and you can make it through this". From that, I learned that God will never give us something we cannot handle, no matter how massive or devastating, we can pull through. As a result of this peace, I was able to start understanding what God wanted me to do, or how He could help me in my daily life. The gift of peace in my life from the cold harsh outside world, and the ability to understand why things happen and what I should and shouldn't be doing. Those are the greatest factors in my life that have kept me in this Church. This Church really is amazing, and I would probably be a very unhappy person without it, I know that for a fact. I love my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ, and I will never forsake Them, because They would never forsake me.

How I live my faith

Everyday when I wake up, I pray to my Father In Heaven. I talk to Him, and I thank Him for things that i have in my life, and experiences I've had to make me who I am. I also ask Him for strength and guidance to get through my difficulties in life, because I know He knows me and wants to show me what I can do to better my life, and more importantly other lives. I love to share with people what I know. I love to offer them the chance to feel what I have felt in my life because of my relationship with God. Knowing that My Heavenly Father cares, and that He knows me better than myself, gives me the confidence to push forward and follow His gospel. It also gives me the perfect drive to share it with people so they too can better their life, and the life of others around them. Being on a Mission has made me realize this even more, and I'm loving it. Having a relationship with God, and knowing how to strengthen it, I believe that has to be one of the all time most important things you can do every second of the day, and that's what I want others to realize every time I share what I believe.
