Hi I'm Kim Elks

I am LDS,and love it. Igrew up in Corning New York and still live nearby in NY state.

About Me

I am a wife, mother of 5, 3 living.I have 4 grown children,3 living. My youngest son died 18 months ago at age 27. We miss him but we know where he is am feel that we will all be together forever. This helps. He and my first son son are hanging out together until we can all be together again. Understanding the Gospel helps alot with this. I have 4 grandchildren,2 are 12 1/2 and cousins, one is 8 and we have a new baby aged 4 months. I work as a nurse and am finishing school to be an RN, hopefully in June. I love to sew in my spare time ( I don't have much)I also LOVE geneology and doing the work for my deceased family. These are some of my favorite activities. I LOVE the Gospel. This has been a defining force in helping me to be able to make good decisions. I love the wisdom and knowledge that I have access to and the help that I get on a constant basis from the Holy GHost. I hope that you can have what I have. It's fantastic. Hope to hear from you.

Why I am a Mormon

I joined the church 34 years ago. Best decision I ever made. I have studied consistently over the years and keep learning and growing .I KNOW that the church is true. I have studied and prayed and it has deep in the fiber of who I am at this point in time. It helps me to be able to make good choices when those around me don't. I work as a nurse so most of the people I am around have a different set of values than I do .and my knowledge of the Gospel helps me to be strong.

How I live my faith

I joined the church 34 years ago. It was the best decision that I ever made. When I joined the church my oldest two were 12 months and 3 years old. All 4 of my children had the benefit of all the programs of the church but it is my firm belief that the teaching starts at home with morning / evening family scriptures and prayer and that the church supplements this.My children made friends and relationships in the nursery with other children of the same values that are their closest friends after family today. Attending my meetings and reading my scriptures and Relief society and sunday school lessons helps me to gain knowledge.

Who are the Mormons?

Kim Elks
Mormons are people who believe that a man named Joseph Smith restored the Lord's Church to the earth in 1820 giving us knowledge that had been lost as to the nature of the Godhead etc. I am so grateful to have knowledge in my life that many of my workmates don't have . It helps me every day to make good decisions. It is much easier to pray to a person that has a resurrected, purified body than a mysterious puff of air as I was taught as a child. Show more Show less
