Hi I'm Sam

I'm Sam, I grew up in southern Utah. I'm a competition shooter, I'm a freedom lover, I'm an American, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in southern Utah. I've been a Mormon my entire life. I enjoy doing anything in the outdoors including: hiking, backpacking, sight seeing, traveling, and shooting. I regularly compete in competitive shooting through an organization known as the United States Practical Shooting Association. I enjoy anything related to firearms and hope to one day make a career out of firearms. I'm currently serving a full time mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in the California Roseville Mission and I'm loving every minute of it! I find the most joy out of family life, friends, participating in any way in the outdoors and especially in my activity in the church.

Why I am a Mormon

Because I've come to know for myself that it is true. I cannot put my hand to the plow and look back, I know without a doubt that this is The Lords church restored to the earth in our day. I know that, because I have read The Book of Mormon and prayed to know if it is true. I received the answer that it is indeed the word of God. I'm extremely grateful for my parents, truly they believed "children are an heritage of the Lord"(Psalms 127:3) They raised me to love The Lord and keep his commandments. I've never doubted that what they taught me was true because of the good things that have come from it. Jesus taught "Ye shall know them by their fruits."(Matt. 7:16) Only good fruit and good things have come from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and the things my parents taught me.

How I live my faith

By living the standards that have been given me by The Lord as contained in his written word, as well as his direction given to the latter day prophets and apostles. I love being able to get to know all the people that are in my ward. I always feel at home when I walk into any of the buildings owned and operated by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I've traveled to numerous destinations and whether it's Alaska, Australia, Italy, France, or South Africa the Church is always the same and I can actively participate even if I'm not from there. I live my faith to the fullest when I help those around me, especially those not of my faith. I love being able to be a good member of the Church and a defender of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
