Hi I'm Genevieve

I'm a Stanford student. I love my life. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born a Mormon, and my family is very important to me. I am the fourth of six children, and a California native. I'm studying economics at Stanford, and I've loved my experiences at this school. I'm a music lover, I sang in choir throughout high school and I love a good musical. I play the piano and, though I'm not the greatest, I love it.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up as a Mormon, but I'm somewhat of a stubborn person, and I always have to figure things out for myself. I'm a Mormon because I know that God loves me and wants me to be happy, and that this is the way that I can be most happy in my life. I'm a Mormon because God answers prayers. I'm a Mormon because God has a plan for families to be together forever. I'm a Mormon because its true.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to connect with God every single day. I am far from perfect at it, but I fell so much better in every aspect of life when I do. I am currently preparing to serve a mission. I've been trying to really study out the things that I will be teaching to people on a mission, because I want to be able to speak about these things with confidence.

How can I know Mormonism is true?

I think the way you know that Mormonism is true is by prayer. I've had questions about a lot of different aspects about this church, and the way I received answers is by praying sincerely. I like to picture my Father in Heaven listening to my prayers like my parents would if I called them with a deep concern. I also know that God gives blessings to people who act. Sometimes it is hard to take a few steps in a directions without knowing exactly if something is right, but if you are trying to follow Christ, I can promise that God will bless you. Answers to prayers don't often come as thunderous voices from the sky (I'm not saying it's impossible, I'm just saying it's never happened to me). For me, answers to prayers come in the form of a calm mind, or a feeling of peace. It is important that I put myself in a quiet, calm atmosphere or else I almost never feel anything. I have never felt so much happiness or love as in quiet moments when I have knelt to pray to sincerely ask my Father in Heaven about something that is troubling me. Show more Show less
