Hi I'm Meagan Kelley

I grew up in a small town, I love the outdoors and sometimes I like to waste time playing video games! And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Meagan, I grew up in a really small town. I attended a Catholic High School, and spent most of my time in the library or out on the field with the football team. In my spare time I love to be outdoors, four-wheeling, backpacking, or anywhere on the water. I'm attending college trying to become an Event Planner, and am loving trying to figure out how to survive on a college budget! I'm going to be serving a mission in Texas that will be VERY different from the climate I'm used to which will be a great growing experience. I have lots of siblings and love to play games with them including video games and legos on sundays. We have lots of fun and make great memories.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the church, my parents were both adopted and were baptized very young and they have taught us the way they were taught. I haven't been perfect, I have been rebellious at times, but as I spent time with my friends I was able to see the differences between the way they lived and the way I lived. I saw their parents divorce, I saw how they fought all the time with their parents who were drinking and too busy to give them any of their time, and I remember them telling me how much they hated being home. Then they would come to my house and they would see and feel something completely different. My parents genuinely love each other, and they loved us kids and they showed it. The spirit was always in the house because of the quiet music my mom would play in the background and they loved it. They felt so much better in my home then they did in theirs. I was able to see and feel the difference and I wanted that calm and peaceful feeling in my life. And thats why I've stayed. Because I know its true and I know the peace it brings into my life. And I never want that to leave.

How I live my faith

I try to be better every day. No one is perfect and I make mistakes all the time. But that only means that I try harder the next day to be better. There are lots of things in my life and in the world that can easily get me down, but I have to push those things out of my head and try really hard to focus on the positive. I have to remind myself not to fear, and to have faith that all will be great and wonderful in the end. There is a sign I have hanging in my room that may sound a bit self serving, but it has always been there to help me. It says, "I am the Daughter of a King. And I am powerful beyond measure." When I read that everyday it gives me the confidence I need to go out in the world and be the woman I know God knows I will be.
