Hi I'm Lisa

I'm a Native American Mormon, of Yurok heritage and a member of a tribe in Northern California.

About Me

I am an entrepreneur and provide professional sales to Indian Country USA. I also am active with my own tribe in economic development and cultural preservation. I am a mother of 4, stepmother of 2 and grandmother of 5 and very young at heart! Love life and doing fun things with friends and family and love to cook with my daughters.

Why I am a Mormon

It all started with my Native great great grandmother, who shocked our family by befriending a sweet elderyly mormon missionary couple. She was not fond of them for nearly her whole life, because she witness many abuses to Indian people at an early age when the ships arrived in our area in Northern California. This missionary couple shared the gospel and the teachings of the Book of Mormon with her and she said it was the only church that taught about Jesus coming to America because our tribe has stories of the Creator who walked among us. She, my grandmother, aunties and partents all joined. I share this same testimony. I have a testimony that Jesus Christ is our redeemer, born of Mary, died on the cross and was raised from the dead on the third day. Having read the book of Mormon, studied and prayed about it, I can testify that Joseph Smith did have a vision so powerful witnessing the Father and the Son, that at their direction, he was used to restore Christ's Church from the New Testament days back on this Earth as testified in the bible and that the priesthood authority and we have a current living Prophet in Thomas S Monson who guides us in these latter days so we may stay on the narrow path back to our Savior.

How I live my faith

I am currently serving as a substitute teacher in primary and find it an awesome learning experience. I also am a visiting teacher and just took out my endowments at the Medford Temple in Oregon.
