Hi I'm Tami

I'm a flight attendant for a major airline. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I really love big cities. When I was young we traveled to Los Angeles, and I announced to my siblings that I would live there someday. That was before I had seen New York! Wow! I fell in love with Manhattan and lived there for 3 years. I love the energy and excitement of Manhattan. I also enjoy traveling, and lived in Spain my junior year of college. I have worked as a flight attendant for 15 years, my dream job. I am married to a man who loves to travel probably more than I do, and we have a two year old daughter who has already traveled quite a bit.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it gives my life meaning. It is my source of light and truth and goodness in a world full of sin and darkness. I grew up Mormon, but when I was 16 I informed my parents that I wanted nothing to do with the LDS church. I went my own wild way for many years, and finally decided I just could not be happy without the church in my life. I left a Muslim guy that I really loved, and moved to a different city and went back to church. It was the most spiritual time in my life, but the hardest also as I had to adjust to a new lifestyle, and I really missed that Muslim guy! I think going through that difficult time in my life helped me become the person I am now. The LDS church is so important to me, I know that it is true and that following it brings peace and light and meaning to one's life. I know that consistent prayer, scripture study, and church attendance are vital to spiritual health. I am so grateful for the Mormon church in my life, as it gives me peace, happiness and purity.

How I live my faith

In my church I teach the 3 and 4 year old children. They are a joy, and always full of energy and new stories to tell me. I also try to do my visiting teaching each month, although I do need to do better in that area.

What is the Word of Wisdom that Mormons talk about?

The Word of Wisdom is a health guide. We are advised to not consume alcohol, coffee, or tea (except herbal tea). We are also warned against the use of tobacco and illegal drugs. We are told to eat grains, fruits, and herbs, and also meat, but sparingly. We are promised that if we follow these guidelines, we will run and not be weary, walk and not faint. I know that once I fully committed to following the Word of Wisdom, that it has not been difficult. I like the clean way of living that it gives me. Show more Show less
