Hi I'm Danielle

I love laughing and adventures and singing my heart out and sunsets. My brothers are my favorite people. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

One of my favorite things to do is sing. I love sharing a message with those I sing for. I also love staring at the sky. I love that it's always different. I go waterskiing with my family and I can't get enough of swimming. I'm in college, and I'm studying to be a science teacher because I love geology and literature and I love teenagers. I realized this semester that teaching junior high would be a good thing because even if I went into a classroom having a bad day, I always came out feeling great. I have four brothers and I'm the only girl. All my brothers are very different from each other, and it makes spending time with my family fun. That's one of my most favorite things. Whether it's going on a bike ride with my dad, or flying a remote control helicopter with my little brother, or jamming out to music with my other little brother, the times I spend with my family are my favorites. Sometimes I'm sad because my mother is chronically ill and in pain and has to stay in bed most of the time. But she is still my wonderful mother and we love each other and still enjoy our time together talking and laughing or looking at pictures or watching movies.

Why I am a Mormon

A friend has asked me this question before, and pondering it has helped me find the answer. I am a Mormon because I have everything that brings me joy because of Jesus Christ. What brings me the most joy is knowing Heavenly Father is pleased with who I am becoming and what I am doing. I know he loves all of his children and wants them to be happy. Because Christ came and set an example of living God's commandments for us, I know how to live the way Heavenly Father wants me to. Through keeping the commandments I've realized that doing the Lord's will truly is the way to live happily, and I'm grateful for the guidance and peace I find in the scriptures, including the Book of Mormon, and attending church on Sunday. Another thing that brings me joy is being with my family and loved ones. When I follow the teachings of Jesus Christ, I have better relationships with those around me because the gospel of Jesus Christ is a gospel of love, giving, kindness, respect and charity. And because of Christ's Atonement, death does not separate us from our loved ones. We will be resurrected as he was, and through his priesthood power can live with our families forever. I cherish the thought of being able to see my Heavenly Father again, and I know that it is through the Atonement of Jesus Christ I will not be separated from him by death because I will be resurrected. I will not be separated from him by sin because his Son suffered for my sins, and if I repent and live in his way, following his light, I will become the Christlike person Heavenly Father wants me to become, and I want to become. What helps me is knowing I'm never alone. Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ love all of us, and understand our successes and challenges, and will help us every step of the way, because they want us to live with them again. I know these things are true because the Spirit of the Lord has taught me they are, and that is what helps me live what I believe when things are difficult.

How I live my faith

One of my favorite ways to serve was attending a youth camp for girls in my ward. We went to a campsite by beautiful lake in the mountains and spent a couple days having fun together canoeing and doing crafts and games and also learning more about how we're all children of God and can help each other. The theme of the camp was S.T.A.R.S. (Standing Together and Remaining Steadfast). I love spending time with the youth in my ward. I'm going to serve a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints! I have the opportunity to share the gospel of Jesus Christ for 18 months in Honolulu Hawaii. While I'm there I'll do my best to share Jesus Christ's gospel of hope and love with God's children.
