Hi I'm Whitney

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a born and raised Utah girl. I have lived a wonderful life surrounded by a loving family that has taught me to live a good and happy life. I am the oldest of three, but because of my close relationship with all my younger cousins, it sometimes feels like I need to be an example for seven. I am currently enjoying my life as a college sophomore at BYU where I am studying history.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because everyday I am overwhelmed with gratitude for the blessings I have in my life and I know these blessings come because we have a Heavenly Father who knows us personally and loves us. This does not mean my life is always easy and that there aren't times where I feel like everything is going terribly, but I still understand that there are reasons we have to endure the trials we are given. I know that Jesus Christ is our Savior and has provided us a way to fix our past mistakes, I know that when we are in need we can pray to receive guidance, and I know that because I am a Mormon, my life has been filled with peace and contentment even when the world around me is in chaos.

How I live my faith

For the most part the way I live my faith is in small seemingly insignificant ways. I read my scriptures daily hoping to better understand how to live a Christlike life, I try to be kind to those I associate with, and try every day to make choices that will make me a better person. While in the middle of my sophomore year in college, I decided to take the next 18 months of my life to serve a mission in Cleveland, Ohio. It was not an easy choice and although leaving my family, friends, and life in Utah behind wasn't easy, I believe strongly enough in the message this church has to offer that those sacrifices are well worth the peace I can help others bring into their life.
