Hi I'm Devin

I am attending college right now at Brigham Young University. I grew up in Colorado. I am a mormon.

About Me

I am a going to college and studying economics. I love to play the saxophone and piano. Up at school, I am a member of the marching band and I have a great time supporting the football team and performing during half time. Some of my favorite things to do is to go hiking, biking and to just be outside. I grew up in Colorado and there are many incredible places to explore and enjoy outside.

Why I am a Mormon

Ever since I was little, I have been fascinated with the story of Jesus Christ. I knew God loved me and everyone so He sent His son to earth to atone for the sins of the world and make it possible for everybody to return to heaven. Jesus had perfect love and every time I would think about Him, I would feel like I had a true friend and savior. With this knowledge and peaceful feeling of God's love for me, I was able to pray and learn for myself about other doctrines of the Mormon church and compare the way I felt. Each time I asked God a question, I could feel whether it was right or wrong. I have prayed about many things and through prayer, I know the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the church of God. I love my Father in Heaven and His Son Jesus Christ and I know the Mormon church teaches God's way. I have seen what happiness it brings in my life and I know it is from God. That is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I have been a member of the church my entire life. I am not very old, but I have learned how to serve others and love people for who they because of the church. In church, there is a program called home teaching. Each person is assigned to serve and help a few people or families of our congregation. At college, I took this to heart and found some great friends through teaching them about Christ and looking for opportunities to help them. These experiences made me think often about how to have a life centered around faith in Christ. I was able to ask myself how would Jesus serve these people and love them. I was never perfect, but I loved Jesus Christ and tried to share that love with the people around me. This is how I live my faith; by trying to love people and serve them like Christ would.
