Hi I'm Whitney Egbert

"I love, books, plants, and my family. I'm a missionary and a Mormon."

About Me

I am the fourth of seven children, I have five brothers and one wonderful, adopted sister. I have a two nephews and a niece. Prior to coming on my mission I studied plant science at Brigham Young University-Idaho and worked as a library aide. I love to ski in the winter and swim in the summer. I love to read anything I can get my hands on. I love country and Broadway music and can sing all the words to most any Disney song you can think of. I am serving in the Canada, Calgary Mission.

Why I am a Mormon

Although I was raised as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, I have sought my own testimony and conversion. Through this I have grown closer to Christ and felt His love in my life. I know that this gospel is true and that it is the way I want to live. I was once asked how I would respond if I someday found out the church wasn't really true, as I pondered this question I realized that even if that happened, I would not want to live my life any differently. The gospel is true and living it brings me joy, there is no other way I want to live my life. It is an incredible gift to know that through Christ I can enjoy lasting happiness and live with my family forever.

How I live my faith

I have been a music director in my ward for our women's group and I often substitute for our nursery or teach primary lessons for young children, so I am blessed with many opportunities to work with and teach children. I think I learn more from them than they do from me. I am so blessed now in my life to serve the Lord as a full-time missionary. The gospel is truly the best thing in my life, because it makes me a better daughter, sister, aunt, friend and person in general. It is a blessing and privlege to share with others the blessings that I have received and to teach them about Jesus Christ.
