Hi I'm Jessica Barton

I grew up in Cedar Hills, UT. I have been going to school at Utah Valley University to become a teacher.

About Me

I have been attending college at Utah Valley University. I am wanting to become an Elementary School Teacher. I like to run, hike, sing, swim, and about every outdoor sport you can think of.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. My parents have taught me how to be a strong and faithful person. They have been very good examples to me as I have grown up. They have taught me to be a Daughter that my Heavenly would want me to be, and from their teachings I have been able to understand and realize how important I am to our Father in Heaven. He loves all of us and wants us all to return to live with him one day. I know that Jesus Christ lives and that He atoned for not only my sins but for everyone's sins on the face of this earth. I know the Book of Mormon is true. I can be hard to read at times but the Book of Mormon will truly give us peace if we are sincerely pondering about everything that is being taught. I know that Joseph Smith is a Prophet of God and that he restored this gospel to the earth. I love this gospel. It is truly what makes me so incredibly happy. I don't know where I'd be without the gospel in my life. I know my Father lives, and I love Him. I know that Pres. Thomas S. Monson is a Prophet today and he leads and guides us down the right path. He is truly called of God. I love this gospel and i'm so excited to continue on the Lord's work. I say these things in the Name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

How I live my faith

I live my faith through service. Service is a way I show my love for others. Service doesn't have to be a huge thing, it can simply be a smile, a hug, sharing your testimony, or simply writing a note. One way that I serve is through love such as; lifting a friend's burden, comforting those around me, helping my mom make dinner, watching my niece, visiting with the sick, and the elderly. Christ has commanded all men to love others as He loves us. Love is an attribute that I have learned over time, and have gained a strong testimony of. The pure love of Christ is not only a momentarily attribute, it's an eternal attribute. Christ promises us that if we love each other as He loves us, we will have eternal life-we will live with Him, our Father in Heaven, and our families forever.
