Hi I'm Andrea Jensen

I love helping others, reading, writing, and exploring the world. I love to learning. I'm on a mission and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My family means everything to me. I love to spent time with them eating, watching a movie, or just talking about the day. If I could do anything right now, I would read. I love traveling to other worlds and pretending I'm different characters in books. The Book of Mormon is my favorite book but don't worry, I read almost anything I can get my hands on. Right now I am serving as a missionary. I enjoy helping everyone I talk to learn more about Jesus Christ and Heavenly Father. I love being a missionary and I will forever be one in my heart.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I have prayed and have received the confirmation I need. I grew up in the church but that doesn't mean much. I learned about the church in my home, on Sundays, and in seminary (a class for the youth on school days). There is a difference to knowing the doctrine of the church and believing it. I was taught the doctrine, but I didn't believe it until I prayed. When I prayed To my Heavenly Father I learned that God is my Father in Heaven and that he loves me. He sent his son to this earth to suffer for my sins so that I can return to him pure and clean. I also know that I will be able to live with my family forever and that is such a wonderful knowledge. Being a Mormon has given me so much knowledge as to why I am here on this earth, where I came from, and where I'm going. Being a mormon has given me the way to be happy and have joy. It has given me the path to change and become better so that I will return to God excited. I'm grateful for the knowledge I have and the joy that I have found. And most of all, I'm happy to know that Heavenly Father and his son Jesus Christ are walking beside me; helping me any way that they can so that I can return home. I'm a mormon because I received my answer.

How I live my faith

Right now I live my faith by serving a mission. That means I spend a year and a half away from my family, school, work, and everything, to go somewhere else and serve the lord. I talk to others all day every day about Jesus Christ and how he can help them in their lives. Before my mission I took part in the youth programs regularly and I was also part of the leadership. I also went to a program for the disabled youth and helped a young woman there. Once I graduated Highschool, I helped plan the activites for the woman. Besides all of the church programs, I live my faith by reading in the scriptures, praying, and doing everything I can to stay close to my Father in Heaven. I live my faith by gaining a relationship with God.

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

Andrea Jensen
Members of the Church are not required to serve missions. We serve voluntarily and are not paid. The church is service oriented and this is one of the best ways that we can serve. Heavenly Father wants all of his children to hear about the church this is why we have missionaries. They spread the love that God has for his children. Missionaries do not get to pick where they serve. They go only where they are called. Young men can go starting at age 18 and serve for two years. Young woman go starting at age 19 and serve for 18 months. Senior couples can also serve. It truly is a blessing to serve. We serve because we want to. Show more Show less
