Hi I'm Rebekah Ruth Guy

I live in Anchorage, Alaska. I am a middle child of a family of 15, I love to sing, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Wow, life is crazy! I just returned home from my first semester of college at one of the Brigham Young Universities. I just received my mission call to serve in the Philippines, Cebuano speaking, and leave in about a month for the MTC. Arrived home just in time to celebrate Christmas, get my mission call, and help my family get ready to move in about 3 weeks. So, time is short, but I am happy to be with my family again, who are more than I could ask for in this life. I am currently the oldest at home, with only 7 of us left at home, it's getting kind of empty. I love to sing! In middle school I sang in a vocal group for many state collegiate events, and continue to sing on my own, albeit, not professionally. God has blessed me with many gifts, and I can't wait to share them with those I serve on my mission, my future spouse, and future family.

Why I am a Mormon

Ladies and gentlemen, I am a Mormon because that is what makes me happy and I love the fruits of this Gospel. I was born into the LDS church and my parents were both converts to the church. There are many things I still do not know, and many things I have yet to learn. But there are a few things I am certain of: Joseph Smith Jr. was and is a prophet of God, and restored the true and everlasting gospel and church of Christ on the Earth in this, the Fullness of Times. I know Thomas S. Monson is the living prophet that leads and guides this church today, and that the priesthood, and the authority to exercise it have also been restored. It's all true, it's all good, and it's available for all those that will accept it. I know these things to be true, for I have sought out the truthfulness of them myself and have felt and learned of their truth. I know my Savior and Redeemer, Jesus Christ, lives and loves me. That He went through the Atonement for everyone in existence, and He went through it for me. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

How I live my faith

In less than a month I will be in the Philippines, teaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the amazing Filipino people! There will be many things that will be different for me. Such as the bathing facilities, the language, and how people live, but I know one thing will be the same; The Gospel of Christ and how it blesses families AND individuals. I do not yet speak Cebuano fluently, but I can with the help of God and the Holy Ghost.
