Hi I'm Ryan Parr

I'm a Kiwi, a student and Missionary who loves making music, going to the beach, learning and loving life. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I am currently a student, son, brother, uncle and now a full time missionary (serving in the England Birmingham Mission) who has a love and desire to pursue those things in life that are Beautiful, Righteous, Joyful, Virtuous, Peaceful and just that which is Good. I'm just a normal young adult who wants to make the most out of my life, to find my place, peace and joy in this world. I have a love for others around me and have found joy in serving others and bringing joy to them instead. This is how Christ lived and so why I have come to love my Church and Savior. The gospel has always been there for me, the people, the scriptures and have come to know that they are true. I've been blessed to be raised in the gospel but for all those who face challenges I know that even though it is not easy, I know that it is worth it.

Why I am a Mormon

I have a love for the gospel because of the peace, joy and happiness that comes from living it's teachings. It is Jesus's Church on the earth today. I have a testimony that is simple but I guess that makes it easier to understand. I know that this Church is the true church of Jesus Christ on the earth today, that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God and that we today are led by a living Prophet. The Church is a blessing, I live differently to the world and even though I'm not of the world but in it, my friends all love and respect me for it and for that I am grateful. This gospel has been able to take some one as imperfect as me and refine me into someone completely different and far more joyful and successful. I can only say that there is no one I'd rather be, than me. As a missionary I am so glad to be able to help others understand how to reach they're potential through faith and recieving the gospel.

How I live my faith

I am far from perfect, which is why I have and need this gospel. The blessing is that this perfect gospel was made for us all who are imperfect. Being a missionary is truly blessing my life and helping me develop my original faith into a somewhat greater amount. I live by the laws of the gospel and even though there are times where I am disobedient and neglect that which is right. I am always brought down by myself to repent and make peace with my lord and savior. I strive to walk the path of Righteousness and the way Christ would have me walk. I will continue to strive to be the best I can. And if I fall, he's always there to pick me up and put me back in the right direction.

What do Mormons believe is the purpose of life?

Ryan Parr
I believe that as a Mormon we understand that we have a loving Heavenly Father who has given us this gift of life and desires that we make the most of what we have been given so that some day we can return and live with him. We are given so many different attributes and talents which make us truly unique in so many different ways. Our purpose in life is to be able to enjoy and develop the gifts our Heavenly Father gives us including pursuing our dreams, talents and desires (aslong as they be good and bring true happiness and joy to others in our lives). What is truly one of the greatest gifts God has given us is the freedom to choose and live as we go through our journey in life. Being sons and daughters of God means that we have so much potential. We can choose to be the best we can be and make any dream a reality. Through the Gospel and faith I have come to know this. There is truly nothing we can't overcome through following the example of our Lord Jesus Christ. The world today can sometimes try and overwhelm us and make us feel that we don't have a Father in Heaven and that we are insignificant and there is no hope if we stumble in life. But by coming to know the true nature of our Heavenly Father we are able to appreciate that he'll always be there to pick us up, because he loves us. We can also see his love in the wonderful and Beautiful things that this world has to offer such as Nature, Love, Peace, Music, Finding joy and Bringing joy to others. Show more Show less
