Hi I'm Tom

I was raised in Kirtland, New Mexico(USA) and moved to Southern Utah for school in 1988. I am a happy, content Mormon.

About Me

My wife, Chris, and I have been married for 35 years. We have 4 children and 9 grandchildren. I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 1984 and have suffered with Trigeminal Neuralgia for several more. I love doing Family History and currently teach a class on it at our local Institute of Religion

Why I am a Mormon

The hope, direction and standards of the LDS Church have provided a great deal of peace and strength in my life. It is particularly helpful in dealing with my disabilities and has been most helpful in raising our children. I have been blessed both physically and spiritually as I have taken opportunities to serve others. Living the gospel of Jesus Christ is a 24/7 proposition. Sharing the gospel with others is one way I have been able to help others feel and know what I have experienced in my life. I know that the Bible is the words given us by Our Father in Heaven, even God. He wants us to have the direction we desire. I have studied it for several years. I too , now have just as strong a testimony of the Book of Mormon as I have studied it and added to my life it's teachings. I know that Jesus Christ is my Savior and that I can return to God's presence by and only through Jesus' grace. I can come to know him and qualify to use his grace and receive it by living the life the scriptures instruct us to live. I know that God loves me for he has provided a living prophet to help me understand gospel principles and doctrines even as the world changes so rapidly. The authority to administer ordinances and seal families together for eternity has been restored to the earth and we can participate is those ordinances. Indeed, God's love for us has been manifest it this gospel plan of happiness.

How I live my faith

I have had great opportunities to serve both in the church and out. I have participated for several years in the National MS Walk and attend our local support group when my health and time permits. I am currently serving in a leadership position that allows me to associate with both the youth and adults. My main focus is on the youth!! My wife and I visit families in our congregation together and have enjoyed getting to know and help them. Usually they are single mothers or have special needs. We currently visit with a couple in our area from the Philippines. We love sharing recipes with them and have made some of their dishes a regular in our home.
