Hi I'm Jaron

I grew up in Oregon. I love the outdoors, cycling, and spending time with my friends and family. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Growing up in Oregon helped me to gain appreciation of the beautiful outdoors. I have always enjoyed running, hiking, cycling, mountain biking, and anything else outdoors. In high school I did cross country, lacrosse, and wrestling. I recently started going to college in southern Utah. I love learning about health and science but I haven't decided what I want to major in yet.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church and never really questioned anything until my teenage years. In high school, I decided it was time for me to decide whether or not I really believed in the church. I decided to earnestly read the Book of Mormon. While I was reading it, I could feel peace and comfort in the words that I read. After completing the Book of Mormon, I prayed to know if what I read was true. My answer didn't come in a monumental moment, it came as a peaceful feeling and I also felt that I couldn't deny that what I had read was true. Ever since then, I have sought even harder to live my faith and I have felt more joy than ever before. I truly believe that by living the gospel (teachings) of Jesus Christ you can feel more peace and joy than in any other thing. I am a Mormon because I have earnestly read the Book of Mormon for myself and have gained a testimony of it and of the church. I am a Mormon because I love my Savior and know that this is His true church. I am a Mormon because I love the peace, comfort, and joy that accompanies keeping the commandments that God has given us.

How I live my faith

I love serving in my church. Throughout my teenager years, I really enjoyed being with other young men and women that shared my high standards. As youth in the church, we got to participate in many service projects and learn about what it means to do as Christ would do. Another thing I loved to do was go with my dad to some of the member's homes and share a message with them. In college, I was also able to do this; I was assigned to visit certain dorms in my building and share a message and help them in any way I could. Everyday I try my best to live my faith by following the counsels given by our prophet and by trying to do what Jesus Christ would do.
