Hi I'm Bronte Baird

I'm an optimist, traveler, art nature and music lover, sister, college student, and returned missionary. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am studying floral design and sociology at Brigham Young University-Idaho. I tutor math. I recently returned from being a missionary in Japan. 日本が大好きです!I come from a family with six kids raised by two incredible parents. My family taught me how to appreciate music, art, service, cooking, nature, learning, work, and a challenge. One of my dreams in life is to be a good mother.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the Mormon church and am ever so grateful for that. Having known the gospel for a long time I do know that it is a wonderful wonderful thing for anyone’s life. But more than that I do personally know it to be God’s true church. When I was 18 I prayed sincerely to know if the Book of Mormon was true, I got my answer when I read Alma 32:26-27 and I knew I needed to try reading it myself. As I read daily I felt a much needed peace/calm enter my life and I knew that came from God as a personal confirmation to me that it was true. That was just one moment, but there have been many other times when through living the gospel I have felt how right and how true it is.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by striving to keep the commandments always and act as Christ would. This is not just an occasional or easy thing, it is going to church weekly, studying the gospel and praying daily, and striving to serve others and be good always. Yes, there are many commandments, and it can be challenging to follow Christ’s example at times. But is it worth it? Absolutely!

Are Mormons Christians?

Bronte Baird
Yes, Mormons are Christians. Our church is founded on a belief in Jesus Christ. Mormon is a nickname for us because of the Book of Mormon- which is another testament of Jesus Christ. The actual name of the church is the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. We believe in the Bible and we believe in Christ. Show more Show less

What are Mormon church services like? Are visitors allowed at church meetings? Can I attend church?

Bronte Baird
Church services are three ours long and consist of three meetings. Throughout each meeting we pray and sing songs to worship God. In the first meeting the sacrament is blessed and given out to those who wish to partake, and afterword there are speakers and members of the church who share their experiences of how the gospel has blessed them and they share their testimonies. In the second meeting, Sunday School the adults and youth study the scriptures and their teachings together while the children are watched over- they also sing songs and learn simple lessons. In the thrid hour there are seperate meetings for men and women based on age- the youth and the adults- where they again study the teachings of the gospel together. Visiters are always welcome and we would LOVE to see you there. Show more Show less
