Hi I'm Megan Hammond

I grew up in Tooele. I love music. I'm a mormon.

About Me

Music is one of my passions. I love to sing and listen to others sing. Hymns especially bring the spirit into my life and make me feel happy. I also love to play racquetball. It is my way of exercising and having fun. Reading and playing games with others makes me happy too. I attended college for a year and half and absolutely loved it. I learned how to be a little more independant and who I really was as an individual. At college I studied a lot about families. Families and individuals are very interesting to me. I love learning about the difference between how kids think and how adults think. I hope some day this knowledge will help me become a good wife and mother to my future family. That is my ultimate goal; to marry in the Temple and make it back home to my Father in Heaven with my family.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints because I know it is true. I had an experience when I was twelve years old. I was at girls camp which is an event that takes place every summer where girls from the age of 12-18 can go up into the mountains and participate in activities that help them grow closer to God spiritually and also to learn life skills that can help us survive in the world today. So, I was at this camp and a leader got up in front of everybody with a guitar and started singing "Walk Tall, Your A Daughter of God" The lyrics go as follows, verse 1 "Right now I have a prayer deep within my heart, A prayer for each of you there is a special part, That you remember who you are and Him who lives above. Please seek for Him and live His way; you'll feel His love." Chorus "Walk tall, your a daughter, a child of God, Be strong please remember who you are, Try to understand, You're part of His great plan, He's closer than you know reach up He'll take your hand." verse 2 "Long before the time you can remember, Our Father held you in His arms so tender, Those loving arms released you as He sent you down to earth, He said My child I love you, dont forget your great worth." Repeat Chorus. Verse 3 "This life on earth we knew would not be easy, At times we lose our way His path we may not see. But please remember always please that you are not alone, He'll take your hand. He loves you! He will guide you home." Repeat chorus. That song spoke volumes to my heart. I have had no doubt in my mind about the truthfullness of the gospel ever since. I still have trials, hard times, and make mistakes sometimes but I know that this church is true and that there is way provided for me to make it back to them. I know my Heavenly Father and Brother Jesus Christ love me and I love them too. I want to strive everyday to be like them so I can live with them again. The Gospel makes me happy. I share this testimony with you in the name of Jesus Christ Amen.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith everyday. I am not near perfect but no one save Jesus Christ has ever lived a perfect life here on earth. I try to maintain a happy countenance in my life though. I go to church every sunday and for a while I played the piano at church every sunday for the women to sing along with. Music can invite the spirit into the lesson about to be learned so I loved participating in making that music. I've also lead the music in church and was able to choose what hymns were sung. Along with going to church I read my scriptures every day and am trying to retain all the knowledge I can from them. Every time I read the Book of Mormon I learning something new. I know that book is true. Real people wrote and it has made a big difference in my life. It inspires me to try to be a better person each and every day. There is always something I can change in my life and make better. This life is about change and becoming like Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ so I try to be a little more like them everyday.
