Hi I'm Karen

I grew up in California. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I enjoy running, painting and drawing, soccer, and playing piano and guitar. I am at college studying Humanities. Art history is really interesting to me, and I also enjoy studying literature. I love to travel and explore different parts of the world, although I haven't traveled much yet. My native language is English, but I also am fluent in Spanish.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the gospel, and each day as I live by its precepts, I have a greater appreciation and understanding for why I have chosen to be a member of this church. I know that being a member of this church has made me into the kind of person I want to be, and I know that if I continue to live gospel principles, I can always be happy. I have faith that Joseph Smith was a prophet called of God to restore the true Gospel to this earth. I believe that the Book of Mormon is true, and I believe that reading and studying it can bring me closer to God. I am thankful that God loves us enough that he was willing to sacrifice his son, Jesus Christ, to atone for our sins. Through Christ's atonement, we can all be forgiven of our sins and be worthy to return to our Heavenly Father. I am grateful for the knowledge I have that families can sealed to live together for ever. I believe that modern day revelation is real. It makes sense to me that God would continue to guide and lead us through a living prophet today. I am grateful for my testimony and for the knowledge I have that I am a daughter of a loving Heavenly Father.

How I live my faith

I have had various church callings. Before college, I served in several callings involving youth leadership. In these callings, I generally helped plan and organize youth activities. I have also served as a gospel doctrine instructor in my singles ward. Most recently, I was called to be on the compassionate service committee, where I made sure that members of the ward were able to receive support and help if they needed it.
