Hi I'm Makayla Wilcox

I'm a big sister, a college student, a dental assistant, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the oldest of six children and I love spending time with my younger siblings! We enjoy directing our own silly webcam videos, singing on the top of our lungs during long car rides, and running together. We are a part of a very large extended family and family gatherings are always a fun adventure! I currently work at a dental office as a dental assistant. I also go to school at the local community college where I have almost earned my AA degree. During the summer, I love to support my favorite baseball team, the Seattle Mariners! I'm still patiently waiting for them to make a big comeback and win the World Series!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and I was baptized when I was eight years old; however, growing up my family was not always active in the church. It wasn't until I was in my late teenage years that I was truly converted and gained a testimony of my own. At that time, I had decided that I needed to know for myself instead of leaning on the testimonies of others around me. I attended my church meetings, read the Book of Mormon, and prayed and asked God if the book (and the church in general) was true. My prayers were answered and from that time forth I knew that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God, that he translated the Book of Mormon, and restored the true church. I cannot deny that the Book of Mormon is true and I know that it was written for our day, that we may read it and know what we should do to return to our Heavenly Father again. I am a Mormon because nothing brings me more peace and happiness than when I am keeping the commandments and following God's plan.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to always serve and love others as the Savior would. I love going to church on Sundays and I have participated in the church by teaching Sunday School for the three year old age group. Three year olds are a handful but I loved watching them learn about their Heavenly Father and Jesus and His love for them. I also helped in the nursery and enjoyed every minute of it! I am currently preparing to serve as a full-time missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I feel so blessed to have the knowledge of this gospel and I can't wait to share it with others.
