Hi I'm Mark

I live Utah USA. I'm a father of 8 I'm a Mormon

About Me

I'm a contractor in northern Utah. I have 8 children, alot I know. We are a blended family but very close. I love Utah for all recreation here, There's almost nothing you can't do here. My family and I enjoy skiing the awesome Utah pwder in the winter and golf and hunting the rest of the year.I'm a avid fisherman and river rafter.

Why I am a Mormon

I have grown up in the Mormon faith and have been very blessed, but at about 15 I began to fall away from the church. Not because I quit believing to teachings but I began to get caught up in the things of this world, namely alcohol. The farther I fell away from the church the easier it was to make wrong decisions. Darkness engulfed my life. No matter what I did or how much I drank I couldn't replace that emptyness I felt. Then on halloween morning in the year 2000 world changed. I lost my older sister at just 27. Although in the sadness of her death I began to feel peace. I remebered what I had learned when I was younger, families can be together forever. It was this that gave me peace. My testimony of this, although small, gave me strength. It prepared me in a way for the next big trial of my life, just five months later my big brother died. He was my best friend. If I had not of had my testimony, I would not have been able to bear it. I found my way back to my savior. Through His atonement I found forgiveness. Now I am 1st councilor in my wards elders quarm, and have an eternal family of my own. I now have the preisthood in my home for my wife and children and what a great blessing that has been in my life. My savior lives and I feel His love everyday.

How I live my faith

I am in a leadership group that looks after the walefare of local families. This has give'n me the chance to meet many of my nieghbors and thier families. It has give'n me the chance to develop a brotherhood with other men in my community. It has also strenthened my relationship with my Father in heaven and my Savior, His Son, Jesus Christ.

What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

Although we try to live good lives, we somtimes fall short. We make mistakes, or sins, that further us from our Father in heaven. Because we know that no unclean thing can reside in the presence of God the father we can't get back to him alone. Through His pain and suffering, Jesus Christ paid the price for our sins. If we accept it, we can be made clean again to return to our Heavenly Father. This gift from our savior is his atonement. Show more Show less
