Hi I'm Gilmore Jenkins

I am an Idaho farm boy and construction worker. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have worked construction several years. The company I work for is a general contractor. We do all of our own concrete work, most of our framing, a majority of our dirt work and some finish work. My job includes mechanic work if Im not needed on any of the other crews. My Grandma has a farm that I have helped with growing up. We had a dairy until My uncle died and we had to sell the cows. We still have a small beef heard. We harvest our own Hay and grain crops. I am relatively proficient at operating the various broke down equipment. I love getting my hands dirty and greasy. I enjoy riding everything from horses to snow machines. I think that I mostly enjoy the wind in my face. I ride a small mustang that has the fire to match any large horse in the hills. I love feeling the power in his legs and back as we fly across the trails. I participated in a youth leadership camp Called Cedar Badge for seven years, two as a participant and five on staff. I loved helping the young boys realize their potential, and watching them grow out of the protective shell they build around them selves.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church, both my parents are members. So I have grown up with these teachings my whole life. I was baptized when I turned eight years old. I remember feeling so full of light. I love reading the Book of Mormon. I learn so much every time I read it. I know that it was written by Prophets of old. Just like the Bible was. I know that it was buried by the prophet Moroni to protect it and preserve it until the Prophet Joseph Smith was Directed to it by the prophet Moroni in the form of an angel. Joseph smith translated it and formed this church under the direction of the lord and our savior Jesus Christ. I know that all the prophets fallowing and up to now have been called of god. I know that President Tomas S. Monson is the Prophet today, and that he receives revelation for the church today. I believe that if we live worthy of it, we can live with our family for time and all eternity. This truth has brought me great comfort as I have dealt with death in my family over the years. I love my family and my God and I am Grateful for all the blessings that he has bestowed upon me. I know that Heavenly father loves us and cares for us. He knows all us individually. He hears our prayers and answers them in time if we choose to listen. This Church is true and that is Why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I am currently serving a mission in the Oklahoma Oklahoma City mission. A mission is a time of our lives that we share the knowledge of the gospel and the restored church to Heavenly Fathers children. We volunteer our selves for two years of dedication to the Lord in the place we are called to serve in by the Prophets of the Church today. I am gratful that I have kept myself worthy of this great privledge in my life, and I know my family is being blessed for the sacrifice that we are making.
