Hi I'm Bobbe

I love my family, singing, running and learning. I am a BYU cougar. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I love people... I love understanding why people do things, how people think and what makes people "go." Because of this I love history, and learning from people in the past. I especially love American History and learning about the men (and women!) who were inspired and given strength by our Father in Heaven to create this nation. I love spending time with my family and friends. Some of my favorite family traditions include going to the "Beehive Home" (a lady's retirement center) for Family Home Evening, eating waffles and ice cream for breakfast, and singing hymns around the piano. I have a testimony of family prayer, family home evening, and daily family scripture study. I know we invite the Savior into our homes when we are consistent about these things. I love to be healthy. I also love sugary, sweet treats. :) So... I try to exercise regularly to balance that out. I believe in the power of music. I am proud to be an ALTO! I absolutely love religious music and the spirit that accompanies it. I also play the piano and the viola, and think any good choir can be strengthened by a good orchestra. My biggest goal in life is to be a mom, married to a righteous priesthood holder who will help me raise a righteous and strong family.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have read the Book of Mormon, prayed about it, and know that it is true. Everything I believe hinges upon the validity of this book. I love the Book of Mormon!!! The stories in its pages seriously apply to my life every day. One of my favorite scriptures is Alma 37:6, "...by small and simple things are great things brought to pass..." This scripture gave me courage, and motivated me during my first semester of college as I entered a pool of people who were incredibly talented. It was a humbling experience as I realized that I was so small and seemingly insignificant among so many people. Because of this scripture, though, I was able to see past my weaknesses and realize that I don't need to be the biggest or the best. If I consistently do the things I know are right, then I will be able to make a difference where I am needed. It gives me hope that I can, and will, when the time is right. I am a Mormon because I know that President Thomas S. Monson is a prophet, called of God, and given the proper authority here on this earth. He has been given the power of God. Every time he speaks I know the words come from our Heavenly Father because they are full of love and counsel. He is a catalyst for miracles. I love him. I am a Mormon because I know that the temple is the House of the Lord. I have felt the power that is in the temple. There is no denying the spirit that is there. I have felt a clarity of mind and peace in my soul when I go there. I love that I can be with my family forever. I am a Mormon because I love my Savior Jesus Christ. I want to follow the path he has outlined for us, and I know that this is the way. He appeared to Joseph Smith because He loves mankind, and wants us to return to Him. The church today is the same church as when Christ was on the Earth. I love Him, His teachings and His example. I want to do all I can to return to Him.

How I live my faith

I love the community and religious participation that is so easily available through the church. One of my favorite things my family has done in the community is spent time at the "Beehive Home." The Beehive Home is a small retirement center for ladies that is within walking distance of my home. Even though we are usually the ones teaching the lesson, it is their spirits and stories that really invite the Holy Ghost. Another way I live my faith is by always trying to smile and look at the positive. Life is hard. I am so fortunate to have the gospel of Jesus Christ that teaches us about the Plan of Happiness. It is so comforting to have this perspective through hard times, and I want others to have that as well. I want the people around me to know that they have a friend that will treat them as Christ would. He continually buoyed people up, and helped them to have an eternal perspective. I hope that through my desire to be like Christ, others have felt His love.
