Hi I'm Emma

I'm a BYU Cougar, outdoor enthusiast, aspiring physical therapist, and a follower of Jesus Christ. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Just a girl tryin' to spread a little light and joy in the world. Although I am normally at BYU in Provo, Utah preparing to pursue a career in physical therapy, I will be putting my schooling on hold for a short 18 months to share a message of hope and healing as a full-time LDS missionary. Catch me in North Carolina Aug. 2017- Feb. 2019.

Why I am a Mormon

Ever since I was born I was taught the truths of this gospel. At the age of 8 I was baptized and confirmed a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Though young, I possessed a firm faith that what I had been taught was true, but still I lacked a sure knowledge. As members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints we are never expected blindly believe or follow the church's teachings; instead, members are encouraged to seek a confirmation from God as to the truthfulness of the teachings. By nourishing my bit of faith through scripture study and a study of the words of modern prophets, my faith blossomed and God's hand became more apparent in my life. I began to feel more intensely the the very real love of God for me, and all the inhabitants of the earth. As I read the Book of Mormon, a feeling of peace and surety that the book truly originated from God never failed to fill my heart. From that point on I have continued to study and search, and still I experience those feelings. I KNOW now that what I have been taught all my life is true. This knowledge brings me joy and fills my soul with peace; it brightens my outlook on life and enlarges my empathy for others. I am a Mormon because believing and living the teachings of the gospel make me more like Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

To me, living my faith is more than just a Sunday experience. My faith lies in our Savior, Jesus Christ, and motivates my efforts to be more like Him in my daily life. Through prayer and daily study in the word of God, I find my relationship with Christ grows ever stronger, motivating me to love and give a little more, as He would.
