Hi I'm Rebecca

I grew up in New England. I embrace my geeky, bookaholic inner nerd. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a mother of 3 grown children. I'm a unique person, and have sarcasm down to an art form. I love music, and sing or hum almost as much as I talk. I am very creative and dabble in knitting, crocheting, quilting, sewing, painting, and also write. I bloomed late in life and finished the college program to become a Licensed Massage Therapist 2 months before I turned 40. During the licensing process, I received training in Reiki. I destress by drooling over books and videos on new massage techniques, and love the art of energy work.

Why I am a Mormon

I believe religion is a very personal and spiritual journey. My own was long and painful at times. Some of the things I've been through are things I wouldn't wish on any other human being. I went through periods where I wondered if there even was a God. Why this God had abandoned me. Why this God hated me so much I had to deal with these awful things. As my knowledge of my Heavenly Father grew, I came to an understanding... I am an unusually strong person, and because of my experiences have the empathy and knowledge to help others through their trials. Faith is still something that has to be worked at on a DAILY basis, but through this journey I feel a closeness to God and my beloved Savior that I never felt before. I feel inner peace. I know my Heavenly Father loves me, and trust that my trials are all a part of some wonderful and magnificent plan that I don't understand at this time.

How I live my faith

Faith is something I have always struggled with. Through trial and error, I have found that those little things are the most important. It's hard for me to open up my scriptures every day and read, but as I make the time to do so I've noticed my thoughts are turned more fully to my Heavenly Father. He loves me and wants me to be happy! Through daily personal prayer, I have strengthened this wonderful relationship with my Father in Heaven. I have felt the subtle promptings of the Holy Ghost whispering to my soul as I've poured my heart out weeping about the little daily "hurts", or the joy ripping through me as I shared the triumphs. By attending Church every Sunday, I strengthen my relationship even more. I love teaching Sunday School, and I almost feel like my students teach me more than I teach them!
