Hi I'm Ray

I grew up in California. I joined the Church when I was 17 years old and it has changed my life. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am 18 years old! I go to BYU, but at the moment I am at home preparing to leave on a mission! I love all sports and I love being active. I love making people smile and laugh and I love life.

Why I am a Mormon

I did not grow up as a member of this Church, I was not a Mormon. I personally had a great life growing up, but I just always felt like there was something missing. I thought a lot throughout the years. I thought about one specific thing very often, and that was "Why am I here on this Earth? Do I have a purpose? There has to be more to life than what I am doing." I really never felt like I had a purpose. I grew up with lots of material things in my life but I never felt fulfillment, I never felt true happiness. After years of thinking of this question my life took a turn and significant trials arose in my life. I felt lost, confused, and I really felt like I did not have a purpose. Then a miracle took place in my life. I met someone who was Mormon. They were very friendly and we became very close friends. We would talk often and I would tell them about the trials I was facing and they always knew how to comfort me and what advice to give me to get through what was going on. After many of these conversations I became curious about the Book of Mormon so I asked about it. They were overjoyed when I asked and they gladly told me about it. I was very curious at this point and that is when they invited me into their home. Now when I walked into their home I felt a difference. It was warm and you could just feel all of the love in the home. I met their family and they were all so friendly and kind. I didn't know much about Mormons before, but I quickly learned that they aren't scary or grumpy, quite the opposite actually. They invited me to read scriptures, so I did. I felt such a warmth as I read and I knew that this was good. I started talking to the missionaries and everything that they taught me just made sense. I felt warmth and love as they taught me, and I came to know that that feeling is the Spirit of the Lord Jesus Christ. I felt the Spirit and it confirmed to me that what I was learning was true. I was baptized. I know my purpose now. I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

In our church we really try to get involved with the community. I personally love to do any type of service for anyone who needs it. I am close with the members of my ward and I am always looking for ways to serve those around me. I love to give in any way that I can.
