Hi I'm Adam

I'm a basketball player, a sports fanatic, and a missionary. I love my family and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have played sports my whole life, i love all sports. I play most of them and i watch most of them. As I watch sports I am a stats guy, i love the numerical aspect of the games. I really enjoy picking the game apart and learning the plays and tactics. That's a little strange yes, but it's my thing. My favorite sport is basketball, really the gym is my quiet place where i go to think. If I am not watching or playing sports then I'm definitely with the family driving them insane. I guess you could say we are a normal family. We love to hang out with each other, my siblings and cousins are my best friends. When we aren't playing sports together normally we are throwing down in the living room until someone is upset or can't breath, that's usually me, joys of being the fourth child and the youngest boy. We love nothing more than messing with each other and trying to embarrass each other. I go to college, at least I did before my mission and i plan to return after to study medicine or something to do with sports, preferably the latter seeing as anything is less school than the former. I also love learning, what a weirdo right, i like to learn new things whether its history, geography (yes i do understand that nobody else likes geography), science, basically everything besides math beyond Algebra, in this I am fairly normal. I love life and love my friends. I love sweaters! I am currently serving a mission for The Church in Frankfurt Germany and I am loving it.

Why I am a Mormon

I was baptized when I was eight years old. At that point I don't think that I realized the significance of my choice to be baptized. I was basically baptized because all of my family are members of the Church. But as it happens I got to the point where I really needed to find out for myself if the Church really was the true Church. I was planning on serving a mission, but i realized that I didn't really have a testimony because I busied myself with other things. So I remembered from some Church classes about a promise in the Book of Mormon that if we read it and ask God if it is true he will make it known to us. So that's what I decided that I had to do. At this point I spent more than 12 hours a week on trains and buses, so that's when I read it. Well then I did what I had been planning to do, that is pray to find out if it is true. I had always heard of everybody getting these really good feelings as answers to their prayers, but for me it was different. As I prayed I had a voice come into my head, and it said " You already know it's true, you've always known it was true." At that moment I knew that I needed to help other people find this truth. I also realized how much better my life was during the time that I was reading it. I was happy, I was loving my life, there was still challenges and trials, but they seemed easy to me at that time. So essentially I am a Mormon because it's true. The Church is true, the principles that are taught are true, the Book of Mormon is true, and most importantly Jesus Christ is the Savior and Redeemer of the world and he makes all things possible.

How I live my faith

Currently I am serving as a missionary for the Church in the Frankfurt Germany Mission. So daily I talk to people about the Church and how it can help them and bless their life. I have gained a testimony of the Church and I want everyone to know how happy it can make them. That's really why I am serving a mission, because I want everyone to see the blessings that I have seen in my life as a result of this gospel.

What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

Adam
The Atonement of Jesus Christ started with his suffering in Gethsemane and concluded with the Resurrection of the Savior Jesus Christ. It is impossible to imagine exactly what he went through, but he went through everything that each one of us goes through in this life. It is infinite which means that it covers all sins, sorrows, and pains that we may and will experience in this life. Without the Atonement the Plan of our Heavenly Father could not be brought to pass. The Atonement is the middle point in this plan, and it is the greatest truth in the world. We receive forgiveness from our sins through the healing power of the Atonement. We can be freed of the guilt that we feel when we make a false decision. Just as important however is the enabling power of the Atonement which is also referred to as grace. Through the enabling power, or grace, we can receive strength to make it through hard times. How do we receive this strength? Because Jesus Christ suffered every pain and trial that we suffer, and he knows how to help us. There are times in life that we think that nobody knows what we are going through. During these times we need to realize that although nobody living on this earth may know what we are going through Jesus does and he understands it perfectly. He wants to help us, all we need to do to experience the Atonement is sincerely pray that we can receive the blessings of it and we will be blessed, it may not be right away, but it will happen through God's wisdom.
