Hi I'm Andrea

I've lead the nationally ranked AFHS Marching Band as a Drum Major at the Pasadena Rose Parade . I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I dare to try new things. I've hung upside down on a zip line over a 700 foot canyon in Mexico. I love being around older people because of their wisdom, genuine compassion towards other's, and fun personalities. I've played the clarinet since the seventh grade. I've completed my first semester of college. While attending college I took a weight training class and was the only girl. I was able to bench over 100 pounds at only 5'5". I love planning for my future. I want to be a Dental Hygienist as a career and look forward to wearing scrubs. I love working for Seagull Book and for my dad. I love being active with any kind of sport. I blew out my knee in a ninth grade basketball game and needed ACL surgery, but was able to recover and play on a championship team a couple of years later. I love riding ATV's, being in the outdoors and I'm a decent shot with a gun. I love making other's laugh and helping other's feel included. I collect quarters and books. I love reading and watching movies with family and friends. I was one of about 30 people that survived a bus crash due to the heroic efforts of a friend. I'm the second youngest of six and an aunt four times over. I'm very blessed with goodly parents. I'm the proud mother of a couple of adopted cats. I'm not known for my cooking skills. I love that I'm a lot like my grandmother and mom. Vanilla ice cream is the best! I'm proud to be a Mormon.

Why I am a Mormon

When I choose to put the Lord first everything works out in the end and I feel at peace knowing I'm letting the Lord guide my path. This gospel brings comfort and perspective. I've learned how to love by serving others and studying His word. I know why I am here on earth and I desire to do his will. I've had experiences where I know that His hand has been in my life. I've felt the spirit by the gift of the holy ghost. I've prayed about the Book of Mormon and pondered it's contents and I know that it is true. The service that I perform in the temple is glorious and brings me great joy. The gospel has helped me through many trials mainly because I am constantly learning more about the Savior's atonement. All books of scripture including the Old Testament, New Testament, Book of Mormon, Doctrine and Covenants, and Pearl of Great Price has given me answers to my questions in this life. I have felt the pure love of Christ. The feelings of pure joy, peace, and happiness have all come about from learning more about the gospel by being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I know my Savior is aware of me and that he loves me. Again, when I put the Lord first by obeying his commandments I know that he is directing my path for the better.

How I live my faith

I've volunteered as a staff member at the Developmental Center for the handicap. Each Wednesday the Developmental Center holds a dance for the handicap residents. As part of volunteering I would go to a residents hall to prepare the area for the dance before the groups of youth volunteers showed up. The youth would be church members that would be part of a rotation. I would stay for the dance helping the youth get involved with dancing with the residents. Once the dance was over about an hour later I would help put the furniture back. I've attended the Temple which is a building dedicated as a house of the Lord where I could be close to my Heavenly Father through worship on days other than Sunday. I chose to attend weekly since my Junior year in high school. I will be married there someday. I've been a youth camp leader (YCL) at girls camp. Through this leadership position I helped with preparations before and during camp. I was called as a Relief Society instructor. The Relief Society is the largest women's organization in the world. I taught about 50 college women and I loved it because I got a lot more out of my personal study.
