Hi I'm Ingrid

I grew up in California. I'm a mom, have 4 kids, take care of my grandma, & love watching old movies!

About Me

I grew up in a CRAZY household! I am the oldest of 5 kids...3 brothers and 1 sister. My parents had a band throughout my whole life..in fact they still do. No one could ever relate to how my parents always had rehearsals and gigs. Eventually my brother became the drummer and I would sing......( I do NOT even know how that happened! I can't sing! ) I dabbled in different instruments, but never became accomplished at any of them...sadly. Fast forward... I have been married for almost 24 years with 4 FABULOUS kids... 2 adults & 2 in high school. I have a WONDERFUL hard working husband who has moved us around the country with his career. I can' t say I love moving, but we have met so many GREAT people along the way. We have also had the opportunity to visit many historical places. The worst part is that our 2 oldest kids, as well as the rest of our extended family, live so far away and we only get to see them occasionally. But....we count our BLESSINGS!

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church...but it wasn't idealic. My parents rode a roller coaster of being active vs. inactive. When i was a tweener & teen... I used to bum rides to church & then back home, sometimes my mom would at least drop me off...we didn't live close to the church building. "Why would a kid go through so much trouble to go to church?" ....well... I just KNEW it was the right thing to do! I was always happier when I got home, it kept me grounded in my sense of right and wrong, and most importantly....I ABSOLUTELY knew the gospel was and is TRUE. I LOVE my Heavenly Father and my Savior, Jesus Christ so much! I stumble everyday at doing my best....but life is a journey... so i get back up, dust off my knees, and try again! I am so grateful for His atonement and sacrifice.

How I live my faith

I have had so many different callings and each has helped me grow. We are not necessarily called to do a particular job because we are good at it....more often than not, it is because we need it...to grow, to learn, to develop. I've worked in the nursery, taught the children, planned loads of ward(congregational) events, helped plan tons of women's activities, organized fun gospel centered activities for the younger girls, led cubscouts, helped in Boy Scouts, assisted in visiting teaching coordination, etc. Almost every calling made me ask "Are you sure?" Haha! But...every calling has helped me become who I am. They have inspired me to reach deep inside and pull out my talents...especially the ones I didn't even know I had! I guess one could deduce I have a TON to learn!
