Hi I'm Travis Bell

I love the people of Zimbabwe, where I spent two years of my life. I have a beautiful wife who I'm sealed to and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have been a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints my whole life. I decided at age 25 that I wanted to serve a mission just before the age cut off. As I was preparing to go on a mission I looked for a job that could help me pay for my expenses. I prayed and fasting to find a job. I ended up working at Google and made enough money to pay for everything I needed a week before I left. I served the very humble African saints in Zimbabwe. Great miracles occurred in Zimbabwe and the love for the Savior Jesus Christ is amazing. I almost died in a car accident in Zimbabwe but, the cars hit and there was a blinding white light of Angels and Heavenly host with us. The cars where completely mangled but nobody died, only minor injuries. I testify that God was watching over me (D&C 84:42). After serving the Zimbabwe people for two years and seeing them grow I returned home in search of a wife. I meet my beautiful wife at church. Turns out well I was half way across the world in Zimbabwe she was doing the same thing in Vitória, Brazil. She was the excitement and joy of my whole world. She was everything I dreamed I could have in a wife. On a beautiful March morning we were sealed in the Oakland California Temple for time and all eternity. It is wonderful to know that we will have this life and the next to be married and that our marriage does not end here on earth. We enjoy spending times with our families, church and doing things together.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a Mormon my whole life but, did not know if I believed everything I was taught. I finally took the challenge of Moroni: “We invite all men everywhere to read the Book of Mormon, to ponder in their hearts the message it contains, and then to ask God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ if the book is true. Those who pursue this course and ask in faith will gain a testimony of its truth and divinity by the power of the Holy Ghost. (See Moroni 10:3–5.). I was reading the Book of Mormon, praying, fasting and talking with the missionaries sometime in my younger years. I really wanted to know the truth. While in a lesson one day, I had a sudden calm and peace come over me and I heard a voice as if I was speaking to you face to face. It said, “you already know the truth why do you keep asking.” I realized I had known my whole life that my Heavenly Father Loved me and that Jesus Christ lives. I realized that the Mormon Church was Jesus Christ’s church restored on the earth with Prophets and Apostles who had the same Authority that as Jesus Christ because it had been restored threw the Prophet Joseph Smith. I know that we have a Prophet even Thomas S Monson who leads and guides the world with direct revelation from our Heavenly Father. I don’t want you to believe me though. Find the strength you need to continue in your search for the truth. I want you to find out for yourself because ultimately I cannot give you the answer you seek . If you seek truth, meaning If you have left the faith you once embraced, If you are tempted to give up: Stay yet a little longer, Come, join with us. Come heed the call of the gentle Christ. Take up your cross and follow Him. “For everyone that asketh, receiveth; and he that seeketh, findeth; and unto him that knocketh, it shall be opened.’

How I live my faith

I live my faith every day by trying to study the scriptures and being in communion with my Heavenly Father. I try to be like Jesus Christ and remember His teachings to be a better example. I try to have patience with people and am working on my humility. None of us are perfect. I am working on going to the temple of the Lord more often to study and learn about the Plan of Happiness. Which truly makes us happier because we know Jesus Christ lives and wants us to return to Him. John 16:33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.
