Hi I'm Darius

I am from Germany. I love playing the piano and football. At the moment I live in England. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Germany and love it. It is a wonderful country! As a child I lived in a small village so I enjoyed the nature: forest, fields, hills, just all of Gods creation. When I grew a bit older I started playing football and I love it ever since. It definitely is my favourite sport! But I like every other kind of sport as well, as long as I can exercise. Another hobby I have is playing the piano. No matter how you feel, when you play the piano you get uplifted and you can enjoy the wonderful music! My family consists of my parents and an older brother as well as 2 younger ones. They are great, I love them! Before I came to England I graduated from school. I plan on studying medicine and becoming a doctor when I will go back to Germany. Right now I am in England, serving a full-time mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, which means that I am a full-time volunteer in doing community service and teaching people about Jesus Christ and the Restoration of His Church.

Why I am a Mormon

All of my grandparents were converts to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (aka Mormons) either in their youth or as young adults. So both of my parents have been born into this church. They raised me with the standards of the Church of Jesus Christ and taught me about God (our Heavenly Father), His Son Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost. They taught me about faith, about prayer, about all the principles that I hold dear today. But there was a time when I was questioning what I have been taught. Actually in the Church of Jesus Christ we get taught to not accept everything, but to ask questions and to find out things on our own: through prayer and study. So that is what I did. I was reading the Book of Mormon and praying to know if it is true. I can testify that it is! Throughout my life I learned that if I follow the commandments I am blessed and that I can enjoy my life.

How I live my faith

The more I learn about the gospel of Jesus Christ, the more I understand that it is something you can apply in every situation. It is not just something you live once every week at church, but something you live every single day. I have seen how following God's commandments brings us blessings into our life. From experience I can say, that true happiness comes just through following God and His Son Jesus Christ. And although that is most the time the harder way, through going out of our comfort zone we learn a lot and can be able to develop stronger self control and discipline. When I was back home I had some assignments to help our bishop in the ward and to play the piano/organ for the singing of hymns and the choir. Now I serve the Lord as a full-time missionary for 2 years. It is a great time of learning about people, different religions and faiths, and as well about myself. Together with different missionary companions I visit people and teach them about Jesus Christ and His gospel, do community service, teach language classes, organize events, etc. I love all about that time and the opportunities I have! So far this things have changed my perspective on my life a lot and I learned lots of new things that will help me for the rest of my life. I know that through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ every single person on this planet can benefit; through living a happier and safer life and through being more connected and united with their families.
