Hi I'm Brent Thomas Cotton

Im a caring brother and an uncle to some cute nieces and nephews. I am a missionary of the lord. I am a Latter Day Saint

About Me

I have a huge love for animals of any kind. I have been fortunate to grow up with 2 amazing dogs who follow me around and are treated like queens. I have a large family. I am the fifth child out of six children. My mom wasn't able to have any more children after her fourth child but my parents knew they were supposed to have 2 more. I was adopted right after I was born and my parents took me home to my family who adores me every day. My family always says that the first four came from mommies belly and the last two came from mommies heart. Being raised in my family has been such a huge blessing for me. Not only was I raised to learn about the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, I also had huge examples of christlike people. One of them happened to be my Grandfather, who happens to be who I am named after. He has since passed away but I am so grateful for the knowledge that I have to know that we have an eternal family and I will see my Grandpa again. I have a strong testimony of the Gospel and I am so grateful for the chance to be able to serve my Heavenly Father on my new calling as a Missionary.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been blessed and was very influenced as a child with the gospel in my life. Having been raised in the gospel was only a stepping stone to why I chose to stay strong in my faith as a Latter-Day Saint. I am a mormon because of the strength it gives me. As a mormon I strive to stay very close to my heavenly father and in return I am blessed with the strength to take care of my mother and my little brother at home, be a good influence to my friends and a support to my family. With the blessings of the lord I have advanced in my priesthood callings starting as a deacon, to a teacher, and now an elder who has chosen to serve as a full time missionary. Without the strength of the my Mormanism I don't believe I would be who and where I am today.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to stay focused on doing the things that Heavenly Father and Jesus would have me do. I know that I am not perfect and I never will be but I try every day to be better than I was the day before. If I didn't succeed I know that the atonement that was given to me and to everyone else by the Savior will give me the chance to repent and to start again. I try every day to be an example to those around me. Since I turned twelve and received the Priesthood I have been the example to my family and the priesthood holder in my house. My Parents were not able to stay married and I was able to keep the priesthood as an influence in a house without a father. It has helped me see the importance that the Priesthood plays in the role of a family and it makes me so much more sure of the kind of father I want to be one day. Many of my friends are not of my faith, I try to be understanding of their beliefs and then show them by example how I live the Gosple of Jesus Christ. They have seen the differnece from their life to my life and they have been able to learn to make better choices.
