Hi I'm Matt

I'm a Mormon I was born in Utah, and a missionary in Pennsylvania!!!

About Me

I am really not that hard to get to know. All a person needs to know about me is that I Love the outdoors. I spend countless hours outside hiking and hunting. In the scriptures the prophets went to the mountains to pray, and I have found that going out and hunting when you are just sitting in a spot you start to think about life and you end up praying for guidance. when you are there siting silently I feel that you are more likely to receive inspiration.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born to a LDS family. while i was growing up my siblings started to leave to serve missions. I didn't really understand till latter. Family is the main reason that i am in this church. There are many reasons that I am in this church but I can't force it on to others they need to know it for themselves. the message the missionary's spread to the world is the best thing to do if someone has questions. Read the Book of Mormon.

How I live my faith

I am now a missionary for the church in the Pennsylvania Pittsburgh Mission. It is a wonderful place and I have really enjoyed meeting new people and learning a lot. I have grow so much. I want the people of Pennsylvania to know that God has called Prophets today and his church has been restored to the Earth at last, and most important thing, family's can be together forever. Also that God has given us Proof of this Great message. A Book (The Book of Mormon), That we can hold in our hands and read and pray about and ask God if it is True. He will answer if we ask with a sincere heart and we really want to know, And we are willing to Act on the answer.

How do I become a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormon Church)?

Matt
Well the best thing you can do is talk to the Missionaries. They will help you in anyway they can and will teach you the gospel of Jesus Christ. there are five main points. Faith in Jesus Christ, Repentance, Baptism, receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost, and enduring to the end. Show more Show less

How can we come to know our Father in Heaven?

Matt
Well the best way to get to know Heavenly Father, is to simply talk to him! Praying to Him brings you closer to Him. He will listen and if your listening He will talk to you, through your thoughts and feelings. often through the scriptures. A certain verse or chapter will stand out, or the Holy Ghost will inspire you to know what God is saying! One verse that really speaks to me is Acts 17:27-29. We are the offspring of God and if we seek Him we will find Him! He is never very far away! Show more Show less

Why is authority to perform a baptism important?

Matt
Well the Authority is very important. I always like to think about a police officer vs. a Mailman. If you got pulled over by both, the only one you would take would be the ticket given with the authority needed for giving a ticket. I see it as the same with baptism, but you need to have the authority from God to preform the ordinances of his gospel. He has given that Priesthood authority to us in these days through the prophet Joesph Smith. God has reached out in love by calling a Prophet who has Restored the gospel and the Priesthood to the Earth. Show more Show less

What blessings can you receive from reading the Book of Mormon, the Bible, and other scriptures?

Matt
By reading and studying the scriptures you are given an extra wall of protection from the things in this world meant to tare down your faith. It also gives you strength to continue when the path of life takes us into a trial. As we read the scriptures we will come closer to Heavenly Father and he will be able to send us a personal message through the words we read. He loves us and He gave us the scriptures to help us and show us that He has faith in us and wants us to come close to Him. Show more Show less
