Hi I'm McKay

I grew up near Seattle. I am a twin. I am a member of a university drumline. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently a missionary for the LDS Church preparing to serve in Budapest, Hungary. I recently attended a large university. I love drumming in the marching band, playing pretty much every sport, hiking, fishing, and anything outdoors. I have a twin brother, and it seems like things have come very easy for him; school, friends, etc. I, on the other hand, have had to work really hard to get to this point, and nothing has every really come easy for me. However, I stick to it!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it brings me pure joy. Joy that I have never felt anywhere else in my life. Joy that envelops my whole body and soul. I know that this joy cannot be found anywhere else. I am a Mormon because this gospel has taught me where I have been, where I am now, and where I am going. I know that God has a perfect plan, and I am so fortunate to know how I can succeed in His plan and return to live with Him again one day. I am a Mormon because I know my true relationship with God and Jesus Christ; that God is my Heavenly Father and that I am His child; that Jesus Christ is also His Son. I know that he personally took upon Himself all my sins and sorrows. I know that through Joseph Smith, the same Church that Jesus established is on the earth today. I know that our Heavenly Father loves us so much, that he provided a way for us to know the fullness of the Gospel. Heavenly Father gave His prophet, Joseph Smith, the power to translate a set of ancient scriptures from the Americas. From this translation we have the Book of Mormon. I know that the Book of Mormon is the word of God and that not only contains the fullness of the gospel of Jesus Christ, but it is living proof that God loves us, Jesus Christ atoned for us and made it possible for us to complete our eternal journey, and that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is Christ church upon the earth. I know that God speaks today!

How I live my faith

In my ward in college, I had the opportunity to teach Sunday School. I loved that calling so much because it allowed me to communicate my feelings and love for the gospel in a public setting. That experience also allowed me to continue to strengthen my testimony of this gospel. Even though it was hard and time consuming, I would never give up the experience. I am also a hometeacher, visiting ward members and checking up on their needs. I love this call so much because it allows me to serve others. While I serve others, I develop a strong love for them, and I feel how much God and Jesus Christ love them.
