Why I am a Mormon

I find my Mormon faith a blessing, and i find joy in serving The Lord everyday of my life. Taking my time to share the gospel is one of the most important things in my lifetime I hope everyone will take the oppurtunity to hear this gospel. It has changed my life in so many ways. I hope everyone will feel this happiness of which I feel in being a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints!

How I live my faith

I am serving a Full-Time mission in The Virginia Richmond Mission. I am sharing this wonderful gospel to my Brothers and Sisters here in Virginia! I also enjoy reading the scriptures and searching for gospel truths within His words and the words of His holy prophets. I pray everytime I have the chance to because I know that our father in heaven is willing to hear everyone of His children.

Why is family so important to Mormons?

'Alipate 'Olive
Much of what we believe and practice pin point to the Family. Our families are very important to us, because they are very important to our Father in Heaven. We strive everyday to strengthen our families because we know that it is only through our own efforts here in this life that we may return to our father in heaven and be united with our families once again. What is the Book of Mormon?

'Alipate 'Olive
The Book Of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ. It adds it's testimony of the savior to the Bible. Making both the Bible and the Book Of Mormon witnesses that Jesus is the Christ. The Book Of Mormon has record's of god's dealings with those who were in the ancient America's. In order for one to know that the Book Of Mormon is true; he/she must read the book, ponder, and ask with a sincere heart if the Book Of Mormon is true. "Those who pursue this course and ask in faith will gain a testimony of its truth and divinity by the power of the Holy Ghost." (Introduction of the Book Of Mormon) Show more Show less

In whom should we have faith?

'Alipate 'Olive
It is very easy to know that all of our faith should be on the Savior! He has made it possible for all of us to live with our families and with our Father in heaven once again. He is capable of healing us spiritually, physically, mentally, and emotionally. It is by Faith in him that we can be healed. So, let us be faithful in everything we do and recognize our savior Jesus Christ. Show more Show less

What is faith?

'Alipate 'Olive
Faith can take MANY forms! Some believe faith is what you live and believe. Some believe that Faith is something we believe in but cannot see it. I believe that Faith is something you know from the conviction of the Holy Ghost that it is True. How can we develop our faith? I know that as we pray for certain truths that our Faith will increase in what we believe and what we know to be true. Show more Show less

What will the Mormon missionaries talk about when they visit my home?

'Alipate 'Olive
Missionaries share something very precious to them. Their religion. They share a message of our Lord, and Savior, Jesus Christ. They lay out the Plan of Salvation and talk about certain gospel principles revealed to the Prophet Joseph Smith. They then invite ALL to ponder their messages and pray about them. Why are only some Mormons allowed into temples? Is there something secret going on in Mormon temples? What goes on in Mormon temples?

'Alipate 'Olive
Temples are a very sacred place. Some may ask, "Are there any secret things that go on in the temple?". The way I see it is; what goes on in the Temple is very sacred not secret. Therefore, we honor the temple and make it a goal for every one of us to enter into, and live by certain covenants that we make in the temple. When we go to the temple we bind ourselves together with not only each other but with our ancestors. We do things such as baptism for the dead which allows those who have passed on to receive the ordinance. Along with many others which are again, sacred. Show more Show less

What is the Word of Wisdom that Mormons talk about?

'Alipate 'Olive
The Word of Wisdom, or the Law Of Health provides us with the opportunity to live healthier and most-importantly happier. Our bodies are a sacred gift from god, therefore we must do all we can to respect it. The Lord revealed this to Joseph Smith in 1833 knowing that in our day and age that many will struggle with these substances. Which include Tobacco, Alcohol, Illegal Drugs, Coffee and Tea. Along with many other guidelines found in the Doctrine and Covenants 89:1-21. Today, the scientific community promotes some of the same principles. God promises great Physical and Spiritual blessings as we follow the Word Of Wisdom. Show more Show less
