Hi I'm Heather

I love my family. I love books and work as a librarian. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I stumbled upon the perfect occupation. I love books and reading, and now get to work as a librarian. Obviously I like to read-but no-I don't get to read on the job. Contrary to popular belief, public libraries today are not as quiet as you would think. I have the best family ever. I love spending time with them-especially all of my nieces and nephews. I also enjoy riding my bike, swimming, traveling, watching movies, and listening to music.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised a member of the Church, but I found out for myself that it was true. You can only rely on the faith of others for so long. I read the Book of Mormon and then prayed to God to ask if it was true. I received a calm peaceful assurance knowing that it was. I know Joseph Smith restored the Church of Christ in our day. Today our church is lead by a prophet, Thomas S. Monson. Jesus Christ is our Savior and Redeemer. I know that he died for my sins and that if I do all that I can, His grace will be sufficient to save me. Through the priesthood power, families can be together forever. I also know that if you ask God, He will give you your own answer.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith every day-including daily personal prayer and scripture study. As a missionary I learned study habits that I try to continue even now. I served as a missionary in Russia, and it changed my life in many ways. I love the people of Russia! I currently serve in the Women's organization of the church. I help plan monthly activities for women of all ages. The activities help develop spiritually, mentally and physically for the challenges of everyday life. It has been wonderful getting to know the women in my community. They are smart, fun, and inspiring. Some of our most well attended activities involve service projects that help our community. I also help plan Sunday meetings and sometimes teach lessons or lead meetings. Worshiping together is a great way to gain insights that I would not find alone.
